Down through the years of Southern Gospel music there have been many great groups to grace a stage, groups who have set out to make a difference in this world by spreading the message of Jesus Christ and who have proven that they have just what it takes to make it in the industry. One such group that would fall in this category is the Perrys.
Beginning their amazing journey gathered around a piano in 1970, the Perrys trusted and knew this was what God had called them to do. Since then they have followed and watched as God has unfolded His plan for their ministry and has allowed them to achieve far beyond what they had ever imagined.
Staying true to their Southern Gospel roots, the Perrys win the hearts of fans wherever they go. Making their home in Gallatin, TN, husband and wife,Tracy and Libbi Perry Stuffle manage and take care of vocal responsibilities. Considered one of the best bass vocalist in the industry,Tracy gives the foundation for the Perrys with his rich voice and handles most of the emcee work each night on stage. The only original member still traveling today with the group is Libbi. Libbi, with her smooth alto voice and many honors added to her name, has proven to be one of Southern Gospel's most talented leading ladies.
"God has been so good to Tracy and me. We have always had a desire to tell others about His grace and mercy through song, and He allows us to do this every week," shared Libbi. "Not only are we blessed to have our son, Jared, travel and be a part of this ministry with us, but we are also blessed to have some of the greatest guys to stand on stage with us every night."
Joseph Habedank, who sings lead for the group with his strong voice has become one of the most recognized young vocalists in the industry today. Piano player, Bryan Elliot shares his heart with the audience every night through the amazing gift that God has given him. Troy Peach sings the baritone part for the group contributing the smooth tones and richharmonies that have become an integral part of the Perrys' sound.
Having traveled for thirty-seven years, the Perrys have been honored by their fans with numerous awards. They have taken home the honors for SingingNews Fan Awards' 2004, 2005 and 2006 Mixed Quartet of the Year. Libbi was voted Female vocalist of the year in 2005 at the Fan Awards, and was honored as Alto Singer of the Year for 2005 and 2006. The fans also voted theirproject, Remembering the Goodmans as their Favorite Album of the Year in2006.
Not only have the Perrys been recognized among their fans, but their peers have also shown their love to them by voting their song "I Wish I Could Have Been There" Song of the Year at the 2004 Harmony Honors Awards. They also honored their project This Is The Day as the 2004 Album of the Year and their latest Daywind Records release, Come Thirsty as the 2006 Album of the Year at the Harmony Honors. They have also received several Dove Award nominations.
The Perrys have seen chart success down through the years with five number one songs on the Singing News Magazine charts, including two of their most recognized songs, "I Rest My Case At The Cross" and "I Wish I Could HaveBeen There."
They not only share the message of Christ through song at hundreds of churches each year, but have also made appearances at different events such as Gaither Homecomings, National Quartet Convention, Canadian Convention and Dollywood.
"Like never before have we seen the work of the Lord so strong in this ministry. He has proven Himself faithful time and time again," stated Tracy."We are so thankful and blessed with the opportunity to do what He has called us to do, and we count it an honor."
With a respect for the tradition of Southern Gospel music, and with their tight vocals, amazing talents and humbling spirits, the Perrys - Tracy,Libbi, Joseph, Troy, Bryan and Jared--are definitely making an impact in Southern Gospel and carrying it's legacy with class.
Your song "Out Of Harm's Way" touched me so much this week. We about lost one of our daughters this week due to a tick bite. Literally, people from all over the country were calling me saying they were praying. Her youth group prayed continuously. I heard that song on the way over to St.Louis and rejoiced in the Lord over all His glories. Thank you! And thank the Lord for driving the van while I worshipped!
HELLO TO YOU MY FRIENDS. HAVE A GOOD DAY TODAY. LOVE AND PRAYERS IN CHRIST. HAPPY FATHERS DAY. FOREVER FRIENDS, PHYLLIS. I WROTE THIS IN 2000 WHEN DAD WENT HOME TO BE WITH JESUS.
