LIDIA BORDA whom the “Rolling Stone Magazine” described as “the best tango singer of the present” was born in Buenos Aires in 1966. She studied Fine Arts, Theater and singing since she was a teen-ager. In 1995, after she performed other musical genres, popular and classical as well, she started singing exclusively tango. From that moment on, she became one of the most important interpreters of the genre playing at many festivals around the world: ."Grec", Spain; "Festival de Otoño", Portugal; "Citè de la musique", "Chaillot", en France; "Extremos do Mundo", Portugal; "Roma-Europa", Italy; "Lenguaje e Identidad", Instituto Goethe de Munich, Germany; "Filarmónicos en Fiebre de Tango", Dresden, Germany; "Bergen Festival" at Noruega; "Festival Internacional de Danza y Teatro", Perú; and "Festival Internacional de Tango"  Buenos Aires, and usually in Germany with her brother "Luis Borda Cuarteto" too.  In 2002 she performs in representation of all Latin America during the opening ceremony of the Library of Alexandria in Egypt. In 2005 she was awarded the Konex prize “Merit Diploma” in the category Female Tango Singer. She is regarded as the best female voice in the last decades, and she has been widely acclaimed. Lidia Borda has been inspired by the pioneer interpreters of tango but at the same time she is a modern and original interpreter with a classic and unconventional repertoire. Admirada por público y crítica, quienes la consideran una cantante de culto y la mejor voz femenina surgida en las últimas décadas, rescata la átmosfera y las emociones de  personajes que se hoy se mantienen vitales, de Tuñon y  Celedonio Flores a Manzi, de Julian Centeya y Enrique Delfino al Tata Cedron con una mirada renovadora que la llevó a ser seleccionada como la voz de Latinoamerica en la reinauguración de la Biblioteca de Alejandria en Egipto (ceremonia en la que Sinead O'Connor fuera convocada como la voz de Europa). Desde finales de los ´90 ha participado regularmente en distintos festivales internacionales: "Grec", España; "Festival de Otoño", Portugal; "Citè de la musique", "Chaillot", en Francia; "Extremos do Mundo", Portugal; "Roma-Europa", Italia; "Lenguaje e Identidad", Instituto Goethe de Munich, Alemania; "Filarmónicos en Fiebre de Tango", Dresden, Alemania; "Bergen Festival" en Noruega; "Festival Internacional de Danza y Teatro", Perú; y el "Festival Internacional de Tango" en Buenos Aires  entre otras presentaciones en estos países y junto al "Luis Borda Cuarteto" en distintas ciudades de Alemania . Moderna y original se remite a un repertorio clásico y poco transitado, registrado en parte en sus discos "Entre sueños", "Patio de tango" y "Tal vez será su voz", inspirada en las intérpretes pioneras del tango.
