• Lines of Faith is a unique collaboration put together by Mohammed Yahya and Danny Raphael.
• Both artists are committed practitioners of their respective religions – Mohammed is a Muslim and Daniel is Jewish.
• The band also consists of AshleySayed Abd El Gawad (bass), The Tzadik (vocals & clarinet), James 'Ras' Shephard (guitar) and Karim Nashar (drums).
• Lines of Faith is a fusion of Islamic and Jewish ideas, words and music with jazz, blues, reggae, funk and hip hop.
• Both Daniel and Mohammed are also youth-workers and creative educators who have been involved in community work for many years, and also offer creative workshops for young people involving poetry and rap.
• Lines of Faith carry a strong Universalist message of peace and unity which appeals as much to those of other and no faiths as to devout Muslims and Jews.
• Lines of Faith is a project focused on bringing the ancient traditions of both peoples alive in a way that highlights the common ground of the two communities as well as all humanity – something that seems very necessary in the current climate!
• As well as playing festivals across the UK and overseas, Lines of Faith are committed to performing at as many campuses as possible to promote their much-needed message of peace and unity.
• Mohammed and Daniel enjoy running rap/poetry workshops in schools, community centres and camps for young people - please contact us for more info on linesoffaith@gmail.com.
• Finally, big love and appreciation to to Tony Ishola from Platform Magazine for all our lovely pics!

All Praise to the One who works for betterment of humanity Peace is not just a word from a dictionary Maybe never having seen it might be why To me peace means a loving feeling inside Which many really don’t know how to find Living empty desires instead might be why .
It did not use to bother me much before Hearing brothers, sister and parents gone, Homes, schools and offices being torn down, Seeing countries being shredded & destroyed All the blood of unarmed civilians spilled
I didn’t care who or if people went to war I didn’t see why people struggled in Palestine I didn’t see why they contested for this Kashmir I didn’t understand how Lebanon could unite To stand against heavy odds from a cruel neighbor
I didn’t see the reason for conflict in Chechnya I didn’t get how ‘free’ Iraq did not embrace us I didn’t try to figure out Afghanistan & its tribes I didn’t care because of our differences But now I realize their conditions….
Innocent suffered daily & lived in fear, so They fought to achieve PEACE They fought to achieve JUSTICE They fought just so can live FREE And now, so do I
It’s our duty to care and help those in need, Luv Peace
Like I was saying, we, the world, need more of this and less of the other, wars, strife, death and conflict. Let the power of the universal language of music join us in communication, mutual help, life and peace. Thank you for doing what you're doing, thank you!
Lets help break the chains of the oppressed so we all can be our best
Oh the Lord most high created us in special way and ordered creation to obey Humanity is given free will to discover, learn, and decide with a wonderful mind We are not clones but individuals with our own features & paths to the right way To the ONE who created man & woman be light, tan or dark; all part of mankind Seek the truth that is plain to open the heart from the pain and be not of the vain
O Blessed Orphan of Mecca,
Yours was a splendid birth,
One whose light shone thru the universe.
You grew up blessed with a heart,
That hearkens to the low and oppressed,
You are a true hanif,
In which love and mercy were not suppressed.
Al-Amin, you were known to be,
True to your bond for all posterity,
You are a beacon of light
You are a wonderful sight.
You grew disenchanted with the ways of your peers,
You hated their lewdness, debauchery and their seers,
Your heart sought peace in that blessed cave,
From which, all humanity you could save.
Your true love she was,
She who stood by you when you were in fear,
She will forever be the woman,
You hold so dear.
You spread your creed thru your deeds,
You hated the sword,
Yours was a hand of friendship,
That extended to all, big or small.
Your life was an open book,
A guide for us to follow,
You were our living Quran,
Showing us a better morrow.
You delivered us out of our own ignorance,
You were a great exemplar of true forbearance.
God choose you as a vessel of truth,
From which sprung out the ideal youth.
O Blessed Orphan of Mecca,
Eternity will bear witness to your name,
As every true Mu'min will never cease to spread your fame.
