The Swedish duo Lip Service is Andreas Jismark and Louise Jismark. The band started their career in 2007 with the release of their debut album "Copy Kill Original" that introduced a sound that mixed old hard minimal electronic body music with modern electroclash soundscapes.
Immediatly Lip Service proved to be a strong liveact and played numerous gigs in Sweden. The singles "Velvet Machine" and "Flies" as well as a track from the album, "Crash And Burn", became favourites on underground radio and at dark dancefloors cross Europe.
"Copy Kill Original" was somewhat a tribute to the both members old heroes such as Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, The Neon Judgement and Fad Gadget.
The band followed up their debut in 2008 with a five track EP -"Black Cat"- that proved to be a step forward in time. Still using the same conceptual ideas Lip Service sounded rougher, harder and sexier. This time with an outspoken message: "Call us the traitors call us the hedonists/We..re not gonna show up for a God that don..t exist/You..d better put a surveillance on us and watch our evey move/We..re an underground movement and we..re planning to attack you!"
"Black Cat" was received very well in the press and the track "Model Actress Whatever" became voted "Single Of the Week" at Depeche-mode.com and had airplay on radio in Scandinavia and Germany. "Model Actress Whatever" was also released on video.
In 2008 Lip Service also played at the kick off to the Europride festivities in Stockholm and went to Berlin for a first concert outside Sweden.
In the end of 2008 Louise and Andreas released "Black Cat Remixed" that included yet more danceable versions of the tracks.
2009 has started and the band is currently in the studio recording their new album scheduled for a release later this year. A first single from the album will be released in April.
Lip Service will play several concerts in Europe this year including dates in Switzerland, Estonia, Latvia, Finland and Germany.
