Introduction / Elevator Pitch

Liquid Blue is an independent recording and touring act based in San Diego, California. Featuring Scott Stephens and the sensational BlueGirls trio, the seven-member act has performed in more than 100 countries on 7 continents, a certified world record. The Los Angeles Music Awards named "Supernova" Pop Album of the Year in 2009 and in 2010 the band scored a Top-10 Hit as Earth Passport went to #3 on the Billboard Hot Dance Singles Chart. Twice the band has finished runner-up for "Best Band" at the International Music Awards (2006-2007) and was also named "America's Best Independent Artist (2004-2005). The nomadic troop has performed over 2000 shows in over 400 cities and has been featured on five magazine covers. In 2005 Liquid Blue became the first American act to be signed by a major Chinese record label. The band was invited to perform at the CCTV kick-off concert for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Vocalist Nikki Green competed in Chinese Idol in 2010 and was the first American ever to qualify for the finals. The National Music Awards named Liquid Blue "America's Best Dance Band" twice. To top things off, Liquid Blue has been certified as a green business. Band alumni include Sony recording star BC Jean, who started her career with Liquid Blue in 2003.

Music To Move You is the band's official slogan and in both their live shows and hit recordings, Liquid Blue epitomizes dance music. Their spectacular live concerts have been witnessed by sell-out crowds of up to 65,000 and millions more on television worldwide. With a versatile act as well suited to clubs as to arenas, Liquid Blue has performed at legendary venues such as Madison Square Garden, The Cow Palace and Pasadena Civic.

The Band & The Blue Girls

With four unique lead vocalists (male and female) performing over 600 songs, Liquid Blue covers a-lot of ground. Backed by a solid, innovative and versatile band, the multi-talented BlueGirls are first class singers and dancers. Their extensive, all-original choreography combined with unprecedented youthful energy has brought attention world-wide. Band members include Grammy Winners, a World-Champion Surfer, a Professional Roller Derby Skater and a Finalist on Chinese Idol. Even with such notoriety, the most recognizable band member has to be "The Grovler", the band's guitar player, known for his top hat, blue beard and nasty guitar playing.

Recordings

Their critically acclaimed debut CD, "Supernova", is an exotic fusion of western rock melodies with ancient & modern eastern elements. Featuring thoughtful lyrics and danceable beats, it's music to move your body and mind. Produced by David DeVore, (12 multi-platinum LP's) and mixed by (six-time Grammy winner) Joe Chiccarelli, it has been a top-ten seller at CD Baby and was featured on their bestsellers compilation. Tracks from this LP have been included on 25 compilations. The single "Real" was the #1 Indie Label song in the U.S. in 2005 with over 400 spins per week.

Liquid Blue was officially designated a "Green Business" by the County of San Diego, Department of Environmental Health, Community Health Division on May 22nd, 2009.

Liquid Blue has implemented "green practices" since the inception of the band in 1996; long before going green was fashionable. The band recently converted its offices to solar power. Liquid Blue is the first band to be certified green in the United States.

Liquid Blue member, Scott Stephens, skated with the Los Angeles Thunderbirds and is now training along with Liquid Blue members Nikki Nova and Michael Vangerov in Escondido at the Firebirds training facility. Scott has been asked to skate with the World Champion Bay Bombers.

News Flash : 10/7/2010 - Liquid Blue To Perform For The General Assembly At The United Nations

The United Nations will host Liquid Blue and other selected artists at the UN headquarters in New York City on Oct 7th. The band will perform their single "Earth Passport" in the General Assembly Hall for the 2010 Millennium Development Goals Awards Ceremony.

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are eight international development goals that all 192 United Nations member states have agreed to achieve by the year 2015. They include reducing extreme poverty, reducing child mortality rates, fighting disease epidemics such as AIDS, and developing a global partnership for development. UN reps from all 192 nations will be present and seated alphabetically in the General Assembly.

The MDG Awards house-band for 2009 was made up of multi-instrumentalist and musical director for Paul Simon; Mark Stewart; Steve Jordan on drums, and seven times Grammy Award winner David Paich from TOTO on keyboard. Music Direction was expertly overseen by drummer. Percussionist, music director and producer Robin DiMaggio. Macy Gray performed her hit "Say Good-Bye" at the event. Other acts included Akon, Feist & Julian Lennon.

News Flash : 6/11/2010 - 4000 See Liquid Blue Perform at "The Joint" in the Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas

Wednesday night the band performed at the hottest new concert venue in Las Vegas, the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel. "The Joint" is a rock club which has featured performances by the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bon Jovi, The Black Crowes, David Bowie, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys, Nine Inch Nails, and The Killers. The Joint has been named Best New Major Concert Venue by Pollstar Magazine.

Legendary female rocker Joan Jett will headline the Phoenix Pride Festival on April 18th. Liquid Blue will also appear on the main stage just before Berlin and Joan Jett.

The Green Chamber of San Diego County is hosting their kickoff event at the Belly Up Tavern featuring music from Liquid Blue. The Belly Up is located in Solana Beach on Cedros Ave. Tickets are $12. Come out and support San Diego's Green Chamber of Commerce with San Diego's only certified GREEN band, Liquid Blue.

News Flash : 3/25/2010 - Liquid Blue Nominated For SANDEE Award

San Diego Excellence in Energy presented the 6th annual SANDEE awards on March 25th at Joe & Vi Jacob Center. Liquid Blue was nominated for an award. The objective of the San Diego Excellence in Energy (SANDEE) Awards is to recognize outstanding projects and activities that have achieved significant energy savings and/or contributions toward the goals of the San Diego Regional Energy Strategy 2030 through the implementation of energy efficiency, energy conservation, renewable energy measures and CO2 reduction in San Diego County.

News Flash : 2/21/2010 - Killers Producer Mark Needham Mixes "Earth Passport"

Legendary mixer Mark Needham was in the studio along with producer Robin DiMaggio to mix the band's single. The song will be featured on the upcoming "Earthsong" compilation CD from Humanitad. The song will be performed at the United Nations General Assembly in October 2010.

Earth Passport has been nominated in two categories by the 2009 Hollywood Music in Media Awards. The song was nominated for Best World Song of 2009 and Best Video of 2009. The HMMA Awards will be presented Thursday, November 19nd, 2009 at The Highlands in the world famous Hollywood & Highlands / Kodak Theater complex in Hollywood, CA.
