Right now there are no tour dates, but I'll keep you posted.
One of the most moving voices of the decade was a humble violinist from Indiana: Lisa Germano. Her albums were comparable to the harrowing ending of a thriller. Rather than songs, the carefully assembled elements of On The Way Down From Moon Palace (1991) were humble concertos that straddled the line between country, classical and new-age music. Her mournful melodies were reminiscent of Pachelbel's Canon and Albinoni's Adagio while the instrumental setting was a lesson in psychology. Happiness (1993) "universalized" her grief, but also climbed one tier down into her personal hell, past, present and future merged in her feeble and confused stream of consciousness. Geek The Girl (1994) was both a self-portrait and an allegoric concept. It was both an epic diaries of insecurity and a Dantesque journey into the psyche of a girl. It was her most atmospheric work, but also her most personal. In telling the story of her story, and making it the story of all (women's) stories, she performed the miracle of a kind of simplicity bordering on madness. The majestic dejection of the episodes worked like the exhausting grief of a lengthy funeral. In the process, Germano reenacted Nico's most lugubrious nightmares as well as Leonard Cohen's saddest fables. Her songs had become pure existential shivers. Excerpts From A Love Circus (1996) saw the light at the end of the tunnel, although the scene was still unfocused. Leaving behind the claustrophobic excesses of the previous albums, Germano entered a less creepy landscape. Rather than soliloquies, these songs sounded like dialogues between her touching voice and her ghostly violin. But the romantic interlude ended with the maniacal intensity of Slide (1998), back to the inner wasteland that ever more eccentric arrangements likened to Alice's Wonderland

Hi, I'm the wonderful Alisha (and I'm being deeply sardonic)
I "manage" this site, just to clarify to fans, that I am far away from being Lisa Germano. I cannot begin to even fathom her greatness or talent or etc and company. And no, to my dismay I'm always broke because I am a college student, dunce philospher, and starving wannabe artist, therefore I cannot afford every Lisa Germano album. I haven't mastered what all her lyrics when deciphered mean, and so goes the world. Despite the contrairy, from now on I will be answering more emails and trying to help you lads and lasses. Just don't address me as Lisa, it states clearly, but unfortunately in a small fine print, that this is just a fansite. Everyone here has a good, brilliant head resting upon their shoulders, so cheers to that!! Evidently you can understand. Good, then, carry on, and feel free to endeavor to drown me in questions on my personal site, I actually think it's great fun. Probably since I'm mentally unsound, but never mind that, this isn't about me, this is about Lisa. So think about Lisa (for lack of better advice) and good day to you all!
Our new album "Herbarium" is
out now on CdBaby (MP3 so far, physical CD is on its way).
Diverse palette of styles (post-rock,
ambient, electronica, trip-hop, with elements of noise, dub,
neoclassic and free improvisation), united by cinematic, slightly
pensive mood.
«Herbarium» is called so
because of heterogeneity of «songs», which can be
compared to miscellaneous leaves in the album, still being belonged
to the family of trees. Trying to avoid non-alive metaphors here,
only thought of diversity and warm and innermost feeling that
herbarium is capable to conjure up. «... This leaf I picked up
in the park where I met her, and this - I sat by the river,
contemplating...». So tracks were created – one was captured
in some magic jam, another – recorded layer by layer and
meticulously mixed then, next – cut from previous sessions and so
on.
All compositions are united by Poostosh
sense of music – mostly pensive, spatial, tender and experimental.
There's a lot of soul and charisma in every leaf... So please let
your soul look over our HERBARIUM.
