  • Bio

.......... Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Liz Foster was passionate about music even as a young girl. Influenced by artists like Joan Baez, Cat Stevens, and Joni Mitchell, she was drawn to the idea that one could tell stories with words and music, and wrote her first original song when she was eleven. At age eighteen, Liz moved to Los Angeles to live with her father, veteran actor Robert Forster, and was soon involved in the local music scene. About AGAIN: This album took ten years to write, two years to produce, required a trip to Kathmandu, Nepal, and the border of Tibet, and was completed with equal amounts of courage and perseverance. It's a tribute to my grandfather Eugene C. Provenzano who taught me how to believe in my work and to perpetually reach for my ambition. Sometime ago I set out on a mission to collect field recordings from my travels and then find a way to weave them into my own music. I've always been enchanted by the varied styles of music of different cultures and particularly excited when diverse musical sounds combine to make something new and unusual. On this album I collected sounds gathered from intimate corners of Nepal, and invited Nepalese percussionist Manohar Gurung to play rhythm on two of the tracks. INDECISION is my self-produced, debut album marked by fiery passion, true love, nostalgia, uncertainty and anguish. My long-time love affair with poetry has greatly influenced my songwriting and surfaces throughout the record in songs about family, friends and lovers.

AGAIN - A lyrical collection of thoughtful, sometimes dreamy songs that can take you on far away journeys and then close to home again. Close your eyes and listen... INDECISION - A rich collection of songs marked by sullen-flavored melodies, coupled with highly personal lyrics and an earnest delivery. A vocal style that is both confident and vulnerable with a drop of whimsy mixed in for good measure.
