Having been a member of the hip hop culture for years it was this phrase that made me begin recording. I began formal music study in 4th grade. I continued on with vocal music through my short stay at college where I studied secondary vocal education before dropping out (What up Kanye?). So I've always had a love for music.
I began rapping in middle school. I think I wrote my first song in 6th grade back when we thought we could freestlye. I guess that's when I made my first mixtape too. We recorded it on a boombox in my friend's garage. Good times indeed.
In high school I discovered battling. Whether it was at the skating rink or in the lunchroom I was there. Now I could actually freestyle. Something just clicked.
I discovered the joys of recording and dong actual shows during my short stint in college. Several local groups and artists embraced me and continue to to my pleasure and approval.
Around 2005 I discovered nerdcore and realized I wasn't the only one rapping about giant robots and lightsabers and people actually wanted to hear it. And here we are. That's the short version anyway.
