About me:

The Red Door (LA PORTE ROUGE) Directed by Jason Bognacki GENRE: Psychological thriller SYNOPSIS: Lynda Lane (Estiphani Iglesias), a famous soap star has a mental break down on set; believing she truly is her TV sitcom self. Due to the extraordinary popularity of the show “La Porte Rouge” her husband(David Fine), Lynda’s close friend Nina and family all play along with her delusions, each one taking advantage and exploiting her impaired mental state for their own gain. Things hit fever pitch when Lynda who believes she sees the future in her dreams begins playing out past episodes of La Porte Rouge each to their deadly conclusion. **The story is styled as a modern “Gialo” genre film, stemming from slasher stories in paperback novels with yellow covers from Italy in the 1960s, and the later Gialo cinema characterized by extended murder sequences with excessive bloodletting, psychedelic camerawork and unusual musical arrangements. Loma Lynda formed in Los Angeles in the fall of 2003, and under the direction of Jason Bognacki within a few short months of performing, the group caught the eye of programmers at the Sundance Film Festival, who, without hesitation, added “Loma Lynda’s” film and live musical score EPISODE II to the festival’s roster. This secured the group a place in cinematic and musical history, as the first rock band to not only perform at, but to also hold the esteemed title of “Official Selection of the Sundance Film Festival.” Critically acclaimed for their Sundance participation, Loma Lynda followed up with performances at the 2004 CMJ Music Marathon’s Film Festival, and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts’ Film Festival, where they were in the company of bands such as Radiohead, and Kraftwerk, and film’s such as “Dig!” and “Bodysong”. ..

Who I'd like to meet:

Loma Lynda's latest experimental cinematic opus is currently in the works, Loma Lynda: The Red Door. The Red Door is a blood-drenched psychological mystery through the distorted gaze of Lynda and her fantasy self, Loma, heroines who both try to redeem Lynda from a tragic past. The Red Door has already screened at the prestigious Festival de Cannes Short Film Corner and the 1st Annual Downtown Film Festival, as a short film.
