Look & Trees is a self acclaimed ecclecticicm "with 5 c's". They have a rhythm section tighter then the asses of Ghent's girls (quote from a fan) and they have two lead singers with the voice of a clock (een stem gelijk een klok) at their disposal. Wow. Their musical horizon stretches from hard bop avant la lettre - i.e. Monk's childhood- to well thought-out popular music like wilco, flaming lips and midlake.
The most astonishing part about Look & Trees is infact their energetic live performance; even when they sit down it is not impossible that the crowd is shaking like madmen on their fragmented beats, whistling together with the harmonical singing. They have several capacities to trigger an audience just by the means of music. They played Vic Chesnutt and Beck; M. Ward and Jim Carroll in a way that it's inscribed in your memory once and for all -without actually knowing it the public is leaving the scene while singing "those are people who died died!"
Well, one thing's for sure: Look & Trees is'nt dead yet. They deserve a place in your life.

Ik was hier al een comment aan het posten bij Just Like Rainbows om te zeggen hoe goed het concert wel niet was op de Gentse Feesten... Beetje belachelijk, maar ik sla jullie altijd door elkaar... Maar goed, bij deze wou ik jullie dus toch laten weten dat ik heb genoten van jullie passage op de Feesten ! Erg knap !
