...... ...... ......ENGLISH BIO-------- Los Stoners is a band from Cholula, Puebla in Mexico, born around the year 2003. We’ve had 4 changes in line up that have deeply marked our style in composition; but since 2008 the band members have been: Cuevas on voice, Decko and Alvaro on guitars, Jaco on drums and Cheo on bass.--- We’ve named our style Comic Rock, not because it’s funny (although it is kind of funny), but because we write fiction, and its in turn linked to comic book characters that we’ve created. We are not sharing our life experiences, nobody wants to hear about our problems, daily life is boring. We don’t have a strong social awareness either, and we would never dream of being preachy. Our lyrics are fun, silly and simple, but well written. We want people to feel good with our songs, have them jump around, shout, drink, dance, blow off some steam, have fun in general. The same we would want form a band we would listen to.--- We write in English because we feel like it, and we pretty much listen to music in English almost exclusively. Many consider this a barrier, we think of it as a weapon: we don’t want to be exclude any type of audience, internet permits us to reach any place we want and the language helps us reach a bigger amount of people. We are going global.--- As I mentioned, there is a comic book tied to the music, but it’s still in the panning stage, due to time and money restrictions. The comic book revolves around an alternate universe where Los Stoners are the opening act of the biggest band in the cosmos, The Smoors. Some characters are already in some of our songs, and the illustrations are the main element in our graphic image.--- The Atomic Stoner is the name of our first album, produced by Los Stoners & Jose Carlos de luna , mixed and mastered by Jose Carlos de Luna in Tonoworks. It was launched in an independent manner, on November of 2009, and it’s the result of three years of struggle: two failed productions and a definite one. We chose 10 songs that reflect 6 years of making music and the four changes in line up the band has gone through.--- Our objective in 2009 was to finish the year with an album that made us feel proud and 100% satisfied, and we did it. In 2010 we will be promoting The Atomic Stoner outside of Puebla and even abroad, producing al least three music videos and the comic book. ----- E S P A Ñ O L--- Los Stoners es una banda de Cholula (Puebla) que nació por ahí de año 2003. Hemos pasado por cuatro cambios de alineación que han marcado diferentes etapas en nuestro estilo de composición; desde principios de 2008 somos: Cuevas en la voz, Decko y Alvaro en las guitarras, Jaco en la batería y Cheo en el bajo.--- Hemos bautizado a nuestro género como Comic Rock, no porque sea cómico, sino porque escribimos ficción. No escribimos sobre nuestras vivencias, a nade le interesan nuestros problemas, la vida diaria es aburrida.--- Tampoco tenemos mucha conciencia social y jamás jugaremos a ser contestatarios. Nuestras letras son divertidas y nuestra música para crear catarsis, queremos que la gente se sienta bien con nuestras canciones, que brinquen, griten, se desahoguen y se diviertan. Lo mismo que queremos de los grupos que escuchamos.--- Escribimos en inglés porque así nos nace, porque así es la música que escuchamos. Algunos lo consideran una barrera, pero para nosotros es un arma: no queremos cerrarnos a ningún público, el internet nos permite llegar a donde queramos, y el idioma nos ayuda a que más gente comprenda nuestro mensaje. No somos malinchistas, somos globales.--- También existe un comic, al que, por falta de tiempo y financiamiento no hemos podido dar vida aún. Existe un mundo paralelo donde Los Stoners son un grupo de extraterrestres que están de gira con la mejor banda del universo, The Smoors. Algunos de los personajes existen en nuestras canciones, y las ilustraciones son el elemento principal de nuestra imagen gráfica.--- The Atomic Stoner es el nombre de nuestro primer disco, producido por Jose Carlos de Luna y Los Stoners , mezclado y masterizado por José Carlos de Luna (Tono Works). Fue lanzado de manera independiente en noviembre de 2009, y es el fruto de tres años de esfuerzo: dos de producciones fallidas y uno de producción definitiva. Escogimos diez canciones que reflejan seis años de carrera y las cuatro etapas por las que ha pasado la banda.--- El objetivo de 2009 fue terminar el año con un disco con el que nos sintiéramos 100% satisfechos, y lo logramos.
