Christian Pronovost's innovative style and unique blend of rhythmic diversity ranks him as one
of the most respected leaders, a true veteran of the Canadian underground music scene + Montreal's Godfather of house. Behing the controls for over 29 years, he's known for his flawless mixes, his cutting edge sonic manipulations and his adventurous programming. Since the early 80's Christian Pronovost has been associate with the foundation of Montreal underground club scene by playing in all the major clubs + events. In 1987, he's founded “Inbeat record store” & the web shop “inbeatstore.com” Montreal's premier concept record store for d.j.'s, music lovers & music collectors.
His musical affair started at an early age, where Disco, Funk Soul, Latin, Psychedelic Rock & Jazz influenced his passion to embrace the essence of those sonic inspirations. He since then feels blessed to have been playing a influential part the nightclubbing golden era that stretched from disco to new wave to the alternative 80's up to todays new sounds. That's the reason why he still a tastemaker that relentlessly thrives to preserve this musical tradition by fusing yesterday classics influences with the electronic sounds of today. His sound signature evokes a retrospective journey that honours the roots and the ouverture of a technological future.
It's under the name “Lost Heroes” that he produced, remixed + recorded music for labels like: Innervisions (Germany), Restricted Access (Usa), Skint (Uk), GotSoul (Canada) & Yellow (France) in the same time creating a buzz for himself as a “name to watch” music producer capable of capturing the essence of musicians & incorporating it to the latest technologies.
The name Lost Heroes is also often mentionned & associated by music aficionados with a series of collectible rare unreleased re-edits, revisions & remixed versions of underground disco, cosmic italo, early electro, rock classics only available to few selected d.j.'s & selectors worldwide .
