If you are looking for a complex, introvert rock band, look somewhere else. The Swedish alt-rock/punk combo LOYALGUARD is all about having a good time, writing great songs and kicking the living s**t out of them onstage!
“There are too many bands out there that are trying way too hard”, says founder/singer/guitarist Thomas Björling. After struggling as a drummer in various metal and punk bands over the years, Thomas traded his drum kit for a guitar in late 2007 and started LOYALGUARD right away.
Influenced by modern American rock bands like of FOO FIGHTERS, FALL OUT BOY, PARAMORE and MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK, the Swedes did their first two recordings during 2008. Great live gigs (followed by great reviews in magazines) led to intense song writing and more gigs.
The musical ideas of LOYALGUARD comes from a wide spectra. The four guys in the band listens to everything from punk rock, death metal, grindcore, jazz, blues and reggae - four strange and odd pieces which amazingly enough fits perfect together. Modern rock is the common ground where the four guys meet up, which results in the music of LOYALGUARD.
Lyrically, the themes mostly consists of personal experiences and/or story based themes. Without turning cliché, the common subjects are love, hate, life and death. - written from an easy-to-relate-to wide perspective.
The typical LOYALGUARD live show is all about the energy. No matter how big or small the crowd might be, LOYALGUARD always gives 100% of their dedication and love.
