These guys are a relatively new band and I must admit, most alt-metal/rock bands wish they sounded like them - RSJ Magazine.. .. NEW ALBUM IN 26-4-10.. .. Lucid Recess will be releasing their new album 'Engraved Invitation' on 26th April 2010. The album will have 12 songs including previously released singles 'Can't Help Me' and 'Socially Active Warrior'. For the first time, the band has also recorded a piano based song 'Calling' for this album. The album is recorded at Lucid Recess Studios, Guwahati and is produced by Siddharth Barooa. It is supported by Grey and Saurian and RSJ. .. .. The first 1000 copies will be special edition box sets and will include 20 Page Booklet, Poster, Sticker and will come in a Hand Made Box. It will be priced at Rs. 200/-. .. .. .. .. Lucid Recess is an Alternative Metal band from Guwahati, Assam, India formed in April 2004 by brothers Siddharth and Amitabh. Partha Boro joined as their new drummer in 2009. .. .. The music of Lucid Recess can be best defined as a blend of Alternative Metal and Rock. Their songs range from heavy and fast to slow yet powerful. One things that can be seen in all their songs are greater emphasis on melodies and lyrics.. From the very begining, they were more inclined towards writing originals and have been playing shows with all original sets. In a very short time, they have developed a considerable fan following on the strength of their originals... .. Though the brothers have been playing their respective instruments for a long time, they have never really played in a band until they formed Lucid Recess.The band played their 1st show in the Assam Engineering College PYROKINESIS 2004 in which they became 1st Runners up. They continued to play a number shows in Guwahati during that year. In 2005, the band became inactive for quite sometime due to various engagements. In June 2005, their original 'The Samurai Crab' was selected for the compilation 'We Are The Scene Vol. 2', released by the Mumbai based label Ennui Bomb... .. Lucid Recess released their 7 song EP on 18th December 2007 which was well recieved by their fans. Lyrics on the EP were about various social issues like Aids (The Maze), Global Warming (End That We Know), Terrorism (The Forever War), Alcohol and Drug abuse (Painstaking Obsession). The song 'If I Could' from the EP got 3/5 in Rolling Stones India magazine. In 26th October 2008, the video of their song 'Painstaking Obsession' was released. It was created and directed by Rueban Issac and the cast are postgraduate students in Theatre Studies,The University Of Surrey, UK. .. .. Their EP 'Carved', along with a previously unreleased acoustic version of 'Painstaking Obsession' was distributed with the June 2009 Issue of RSJ magazine. With a 42,000 copy circulation, the CD with RSJ magazine gave them a huge exposure and a much wider audience. It is now available for free download in their website www.lucidrecess.com ... .. Since the release of their EP, they have been actively taking part in various shows and festivals. In May 2008, they were selected for RSJ PubRockFest and opened for Them Clones in Guwahati. They were among the 15 bands selected for Great Indian Rock XII in 2008 and played the Shillong leg of the festival along with Bhayanak Maut, Scribe, Undying Inc and the Norway band Sahg. Their song Painstaking Obsession appeared in the Great Indian Rock XII CD. In Aug and Sept 2009, they have played shows in Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Shillong and Guwahati in the Kingfisher RSJ PubRockFest along with other artists like Boomerang, October, Jester and Five Little Indians. They were also headliners in no. of shows in Assam such as Picks N' Sticks 2008 in Guwahati, Rock Chapel Vol II 2009 in Diphu etc... .. Lucid Recess is currently working on their debut album to be released in late 2009. One song called 'Socially Active Warrior' is already available for streaming... ..
