LUFF, from Brooklyn, NY, create lush and layered soundscapes without sacrificing any of the density and feedback of rock. Founded by songwriter Sheila Sobolewski (guitar, loops, samples, and vocals) and influenced by bands such as Mogwai, Yo La Tengo, and My Bloody Valentine, LUFF has evolved from a guitar and cello two-piece to its full post-rock incarnation: two guitars, bass, drums, loops and samples. Sobolewski’s sparse and minimal vocals convey a wealth of meaning with few words, and Luff’s music has a soundtrack quality that both soothes and captures the attention.
