Luigi Cinque, an interpreter of multiculturalism and of the melting glots phenomenon, a steady presence in the contemporary musical scenes, both jazz and traditional.
Since the early Seventies he's been working in order to mix Mediterranean tendences with jazz and contemporary classical music.
In the Eighties he's been on the scene, being a part of european experimental musical, theatrical and multimedial arts currents. As a steady presence he took part – as a soloist as well as in an ensemble – in the most important european meetings and festivals. He still works and plays togheter with avant-garde theaters and with new european dance currents. Luigi Cinque plays togheter with some of the most interesting progressive rock and jazz bands in Italy. He writes and directs contemporary operas and big metropolitan events based on music and images, held in: Rome, Rio De Janeiro, Jakarta, Sidney, Tokyo, Nairobi, Dakar, Tel Aviv, Moscow.
He cutted records for CRAMPS, BMG, Ricordi, MRF, Sossella, Squilibri, Fandango .
Luigi Cinque also created the indipendent label MRF 5 – multikey production and publishing workshop.
He worked also in textual and literary expression, writing "Kunsertu" (published by Longanesi), the novel "La Banda dell'idiota"(published by Stampa Alternativa), several essays and travel tales for important newspaper.
In 1997 Luigi Cinque organized for the first time the Festival Romapoesia.
He wrote and directed several video-works for RAI, Artè France, Canada, Spain, and he is renowed as one of the most representative writer/performer of the new frontier between music anthropology, musical writing and new applied technologies.
He helds a "History of Music" course in Siena Università per Stranieri ( UNISTRASI)

Sin dagli anni settanta lavora sulle possibilità di integrazione tra i moduli espressivi della tradizione mediterranea e la musica moderna. Negli anni Ottanta frequenta la musica contemporanea e partecipa alle correnti europee di sperimentazione musicale, teatrale e multimediale . E' presente - con attività solistica e in ensemble - nei più importanti festival continentali. Collabora con il teatro d'avanguardia e la nuova danza europea. Lavora con alcune delle formazioni Jazz e Rock più interessanti dell'area progressive italiana. Scrive e dirige opere contemporanee e grandi eventi metropolitani di musica e immagine: Roma, Rio De Janeiro, Jakarta, Sidney, Tokio, Nairobi, Dakar, Tel Aviv, Mosca.
Ha pubblicato con CRAMPS, Ricordi, BMG, Mrf, Sossella, Squilibri, Fandango.
Fonda l'etichetta indipendente MRF 5 - centro di produzioni ed edizioni multicodice.
Da sempre attivo anche sul fronte letterario, pubblica il libro Kunsertu (ed. Longanesi) e il romanzo La banda dell'idiota (ed. Stampa Alternativa). Collabora con saggi e racconti di viaggio ad importanti testate giornalistiche.

Come videomaker e regista ha scritto e diretto numerosi lavori per Rai, Artè France, Canada, Spagna.
E' considerato uno dei compositori/autori rappresentativi della nuova frontiera tra antropologia della musica, scrittura musicale e nuove tecnologie applicate.
