We are working on the upcoming album, and all I can say is that the band is not making the album; the album is making the band. Nick Choate (Record Producer and owner of Blue Smoke Studios) and I set out to make a record where each song would get the treatment it deserves, down to every last detail. We brought in the best musicians that we knew. As the story goes.. the musicians came into the studio to make the record and never left. Blaine Crews on drums (The Campaign) was the first addition, followed by Scott Lee on bass (Sam Anderson/Becky Middleton), then Justin Pate on keys (The Orbans/Pablo&TheHemphill7), and finally I asked Nick Choate to contribute his guitar chops to the project. The addition of each creative vision pushed the music further and further beyond what I could have imagined and something entirely new emerged.
That is so friggin' cool. I just emailed about everyone I know. We've got a gig that day, but I'm hoping we'll be able to work out our schedule so that we can come.
