HAL DEELEOOLEA - Talented, semi-tourretic, opiate/sex/thrill addict. Hal does pretty good work out at the Lullabelle stables. Specialty: severely inappropriate outbursts. His dramatic interpretation has improved markedly since his stroke. His ambient accompaniments and vocal stylings have been described as uplifting and unsettling. He often cares for the sick, especially the chronic.
OTIS FODDER - 2 oranges, 8 whole cloves, 6 cups apple juice, 1 cinnamon stick, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/4 cup honey, 3 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 1/4 cups pineapple juice. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Stud the whole oranges with cloves, and bake for 30 minutes. In a large saucepan, combine the apple juice and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium, and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in the nutmeg, honey, lemon juice, and pineapple juice. Serve hot in a punch bowl with the 2 clove-studded baked oranges floating on top.

Little Lullabelle was soooo hungry...
She'd had nothing to eat for days and days...
You see, all the grass was gone, eaten by the bigger and the strong greedy earlier in the season, and now all that remained were great bald patches of brown meadow.
Little Lullabelle sniffed everywhere, high and low... "Oh, how I wish I were a giraffe..." She thouight to herself as she spied an apple, ready to fall, high in a distant tree... Finally, pushing her big nose close to the wet ground, fresh from a morning rain, Lullabelle snorted and huffed in forced excitement. Here was her salvation! Here was where she would begin!! She lowered her mouth to the earth and began chewing and swallowing dark mounds of rich earth, that had turned to soft mud from the night's drizzle... MMMMMMM... MMMMMMMM... She pretended, as loud as she could, partially to drown out the sound of rocks and straw breaking between her teeth, but mostly to convince herself that she was eating a delicious meal of oats and warm honey.
Lullabelle looked for all the world like she'd found a secret patch of delicious grass, so all the rest of the dessicated, worn out cows, skinny and also starving from the unlucky seaon, picked up their heads and looked over in surprise. They walked right up and surrounded Lullabelle. When they realized what Lullabelle was doing, most of them simply laughed, but a few got indignant at how utterly stupid she was... Only one other cow lowered his little head and joined Lullabelle for lunch, amidst the hollering of his brothers.
Lullabelle asked the little cow what he was eating. "Ummm, I think it's brownies... and you?"
"Oats and warm honey." she mused.
"I can't pretend that well, yet," said the little cow.
and they both lived forever on the sylvan plain.
