Nico Luminous...BeatBoxer, MC, DJ, Producer and Multi-instrumentalist is dropping soulful Hiphop Electro-Dub dance beats everywhere he goes. His newest album "Meet Tha BeatWagon Bwoy" displays his original blend of glitchy beats and organic production skills. Hailing from Portland Oregon, his unique sound is universal and reaches beyond genre and age. Stage shows incorporate live laptop performance of his original compositions, beatbox looping, and Rub-a-Dub MC flows.
Opening up for KRS ONE, The Digable Planets and Ky-Mani Marley has showcased Nico as a refined solo artist or band leader. He's played main stages at premiere West Coast festivals like Earthdance, Seattle Hempfest, and Emerge n' See with his band "Luminous Fog" and other projects.
Using human beatbox and MC skills, Nico creates organically fat beat loops and musical textures. The beats are the foundation for songs and rhymes with spiritual awareness, social realness, and steady stream of positive images for upliftment on the dancefloor.
This is all done using live loop format in real time with improvisational twists and freestyles incorporated.
As a recording artist and producer Nico released his official debut release, "UNSTOPPABLE" featuring KRS ONE and Vaughn Benjamin of "Midnite" in 2007. The album is a playful journey of electro-organic beats and his signature lyrical style. The music video for "Get Through" was shot in Jamaica, and is playing regularly on Jamaican television airwaves.
