But lest you all think I'm a total snob, there are shows I like: The Simpsons, the Dave Chapelle show, Futurama, the Looney Toons golden box sets, Freaks & Geeks, The Office (BBC version), Ab Fab, Six Feet Under, Rome, Sex in the City, Downtown, Megas XLR, Cheers, Wonderfalls. Sometimes I'll catch an episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Project Runway, or the excellent Cash Cab. My dad & I used to watch Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune when I was growing up.

  • Books

    A few of my favorite authors are Dorothy Parker, Charlotte Brontë, Jane Austen, & Oscar Wilde. I enjoy biographies & historial fiction. Once in a great rare while I get the urge to read some fantasy fiction, like the works of Mercedes Lackey or Anne McCaffrey. I do read lots of books without pictures, but the ones that give me the most pleasure are usually graphic novels. Maxwell Strangewell (the Fillbäch Brothers), Artesia (Mark Smylie), all the Doonesbury collections, Strangers in Paradise (Terry Moore), Story Hour & Joy Ride (Carol Lay), Kabuki (David Mack), Stuck Rubber Baby (Howard Cruse), Fun Home (Allison Bechdel), Owly (Andy Runton), Mouse Guard (David Petersen), Omaha the Cat Dancer (Reed Waller & Kate Worley), Pogo: We Have Met the Enemy & He is Us (Walt Kelly). I'll check out pretty much anything by Marjane Satrapi, the Fillbäch Brothers, Ellen Forney, Mary Fleener, Ted Nafieh, the Bros. Hernandez, Stan Sakai, Mike Mignola, Danielle Corsetto & that Linsner guy does pretty good work, too. The art books of Aubrey Beardsley, Maxfield Parrish & Jeffrey Jones leave me feeling both exhilerated & intimidated.

    It was wonderful as usual seeing you guys at Dragon Con. It is always the highlight of my trip every year. I was honored that you took my picture and like my makeup. I was the chic with The Moon makeup. :) That made me smile:) You are so good with color so that was the greatest compliment of all.:D

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again.~
    ~The encounter will culminate on August 27th 2009 when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest 75-power magnification~
    ~Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. ~Mars will be easy to spot. At the beginning of August 2009 it will rise in the east at 10 PM and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m.~
    ~By the end of August when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30a.m. That's pretty convenient to see something that no human being has seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month.~

    It was so awesome meeting and talking with you at FX. Joe made my day by being such a huge Mad Max fan. Especially since he is one of my top 3 favorite artists. The fact that he thought my Mad Max is the best he had ever seen made me go all fanboy for a while (and I never really do that). LOL
    Hope you two had a great time at the con. Next convention I will definitely be stopping by.
