Sheffield's "Beer School" -- wherein aspiring conoisseurs learn the A-B-Cs of brew at this popular Lakeview pub -- is hosting its first-ever "Beer School Beer Festival." What better way to get educated in the finer nuances of beer than to drink a lot of it?
On Saturday, Jan. 17 from 1-4PM, more than 15 of the country's best craft brewers will showcase rare and specialty beers from their portfolios -- giving guests a chance to sample brews that aren't always readily available. Owners, reps and the brewers themselves will be on hand from such highly regarded breweries as Goose Island, Three Floyds, Flossmoor Station, Bells and Sierra Nevada to help school guests on their fine product.
The festival will take place in Sheffield's "Beer School" bar and roomy back bar. There will also be four firkins of specialty beers available for sampling in the heated tent on Sheffield's back patio.
Tickets to the Beer School Beer Festival at Sheffield's are $40, which includes 12 drink tickets (additional tix can be purchased) plus passed appetizers. Only 100 admission tickets will be sold; get yours (soon!) by calling Sheffield's at 773-281-4989.
