DUKE GARWOOD/WOLF PEOPLE Lysergery is pleased announce the next instalment in our skewed stumble through an audio bric-a-brac of genres and themes. Hang in there, it makes sense to us...... First up we have the inimitable Duke Garwood. Duke's last Lysergery appearance was almost exactly a year back and we've been looking for an opportunity to bring him back ever since. From blowing sax with Part Chimp and the Archie Bronson Outfit to dropping gamelan moon trips as Ladywoodsman, Duke is the real deal.Expect lucky charm blues confessionals from one of the heaviest dudes in this dawg shit town. Then we have Wolf People. Blues Rock?Folk Rock? Blues Folk Rock? Whatever. We feel beyond lucky to have booked this band. Wolf People play with a degree of conviction and sincerity sadly rare in an age where fashion based posturing and tokenism are the key attributes that define buzz bands. They got their chops and they deliver with no regret. This is the sound of your favourite records pulled through some weird slipstream and turned into something strangely unique and total vital. WHAT:
Lysergery is a monthly event curated by Stuart Souter and Alexander Hutchins that seeks to redress the balance in West London’s culturally barren landscape.
Placing emphasise on progressive creative disciplines, Lysergery is a cross platform arts event featuring guest deejays, live bands, films and installations.
With an spring programme including artists from precedent setting labels including Warp, Fat Cat, Domino, Twisted Nerve, DC Recordings, Static Caravan, and 4AD, Lysergery aims to promote the up and coming artists who we consider deserve your attention.
Lysergery is neither profit motivated nor subject to corporate mandates; it is a labour of love organised by and for people who want more than obvious clichés and tired formulas.
