Mac Machine is a dj, producer, song writer, and rapper. His creative focus over the past 5 years has been the Boston-based hip-hop electro group Big Digits. Mac has been producing and remixing songs since the mid-90s, using the humblest of means: a Casio SK-1 and a 4-track. During the Y2K scare, he downloaded as many freeware and cracked programs he could find and began to teach himself the art of computer-assisted beats. With a foundation based soundly in hip-hop, Mac's love of pop, indie, and experimental music usually shine through his production as well.
Most of his production work thus far has been concentrated towards Big Digits,
but he has also produced tracks for Bodega Girls, Z.W.A. and the critically acclaimed and pitchfork-approved YMD. Some of his instrumental work has also been featured in the hit comedy show WOWMANWOW.
