Gathering in Los Angeles in 2005 the six-member band showcases articulate composition, reflecting the classical training of its members. Explosive live shows feature vibrant big-band trumpet and sax, edgy melodic guitars, exquisite flute tones all marching along to groovy rhythmic sections. Madeline Flash has performed in a variety of venues up and down the west coast. In addition to appearing at various Los Angeles and San Francisco clubs, Madeline has also headlined venues like Carter Valley Music Festival (Yosemite) and recently completed their first west coast tour which took them from Los Angeles to Portland Oregon and back. Madeline also boasts an active recording career, having completed two EP’s (“Songs” [2005], “Depth Monster EP” [2007] ) and a self produced full-length release entitled, “Settles Beneath.” The Flash has also worked in a variety of commercial studios and spaces, including Sage & Sound and New Monkey Studios with producer/engineer Beau Raymond Fletcher (Devendra Banhart, Jayhawks) Members of Madeline Flash were also recently featured on Devendra’s most recent release, “Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon.” The band’s depth of talent and wide fan base enables the group to deliver powerful performances both acoustically and electrically. It features 2 guitars, bass, drums, keyboard, trumpet, flute, as well as multiple vocal parts and percussion. Madeline Flash has recently had the privilege of hearing her arrangements realized by a woodwind quintet (Midnight Winds) and a professional string quartet on the band’s latest recordings (engineered/produced by Beauraymond), ‘Depth Monster EP’. Relentlessly engaging and eclectic, Madeline Flash excites audiences in a variety of venues.
