"Magic Magic’s sound could easily have been mistaken for a rougher, brighter, and certainly more fun Arcade Fire. Every song was a multi-part, miniature pop odyssey, grounded by the band’s two(!) drummers, but handily avoiding the prog-rock pretensions other bands often fall prey to."

Murphy, is this your quote? "the Boston coma, where everybody stands there and doesn't do anything"
This indifference is my least favorite hipster trait. I've been lobbying bands to start a "dancing section" at their shows. You should be the first.
If defining a dancing section is too concrete for you, simply talk to the dancing members of the audience and encourage them to group together. For example, "Hey, I like seeing you guys dance, why don't you Mr. White-T, and you in the back, Ms. Dark-hair-and-emo-glasses come up to the front. I mean it, folks, let them through." When dancers get together, they get everyone dancing. Look at what happened at sasquatch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA8z7f7a2Pk
