Tortent velem ez is az is. 2003-ban megalapitottuk Amerika elso es egyetlen magyar rock zenekarat, amire nagyon buszkek vagyunk. A dolog elsosorban nem rolunk, hanem a magyarokrol es a magyaroknak szol mindenhol a foldkereksegen. Mindazon tul szol a magyar zenerol es annak helyerol a nagy-vilagban! Ugyanis van helye!!! In a careless moment I was born in October of 1967 in a town called Tatabanya. I went to day-care, to pre-school and then to school. I learned how to sing but then not really, therefore I can sing but not really. I’ve been living in the US since 97. Many things happened to me since I moved here. In 2003 we formed the first and only Hungarian band in the US, which we are very proud of. The band isn’t really about us, but about Hungarians, and it is for the Hungarians all around the world. Furthermore it is about Hungarian music and about its place in the world of music. Because it does have a place!!! So “Hungarians, Men and Women!!! Listen to it!”

Budapesten szulettem 1971-ben. 96-ban, miutan elvegeztem az Iparmuveszeti Foiskola epitesz szakat, kijottem Denverbe es itt ragadtam. A UCD-n megszereztem egy epitesz mester diplomat es azota itt dolgozom.
A 80-as evek vegefele testvereimmel kezdtunk ismerkedni a hangszerekkel. 1990-92-ben Budapesten a Barbed Wire nevu rock zenekarban jatszottam ket testveremmel (Tamas, Gergo) es Vigh Daviddal. Ez volt zenei palyafutasom csucsa (legalabbis eddig). 92-ben munka, suli es egyebek miatt abbahagytam a dobolast majd csak 2-3 eve kezdtem ujra utogetni. 2007 tavaszan csatlakoztam a Magyarock-hoz.

I was born in Budapest in 1971. In 96, after graduating from college (Iparmuveseti Foiskola) with a degree in architecture, I moved to Denver and I stayed. At UCD I got my masters degree in architecture and since then I’ve worked here in Denver. In the later years of the 80’s my brothers and I became interested in music and in instruments. Between 1990-1992 my brothers (Tamas and Gergo) and I and David Vigh, played in a band in Budapest called Barbed Wire. This was the highlight of my musical career. Up until now. In 92 because of work, school, and other things I stopped playing drums. About 2 or 3 years passed before I picked up the sticks again. I joined Magyarock in the spring of 2007.

En vagyok az aki 6 huron pendul a bandaval. Budapesten szulettem 79-ben. 93-ban koltoztem Denverbe es azota is ott lakom. 1993 volt az az ev is ami gitart nyomott a kezembe es elinditotta zenei palyafutasom. Tobb rockzenekarban is felleptem (Epistaxis, Bucket), ezeken kivul komoly zenet is jatszom termeszetesen azt is gitaron. Legtobbet hasznalt gitarjaimat Dean keszitette es ezeket egy Marshal JCM2000 erositon zajositom meg. A Magyarock zenekarnak a reszese lenni megerositette bennem az elismerest es a tiszteletet a magyar zene irant. Rengeteg olyan zenet ismertem es tanultam meg amit addig meg sohasem hallottam vagy hallgattam. Ezeken kivul a nosztalgia erzet is fellangol bennem mikor olyan zeneket jatszhatok a szinpadon amiken en nottem fel es akkor is szerettem es meg mindig is szeretem.

Hi everyone. I am the 6 string twanger in the band. I was born in a town called Budapest in 1979. I moved to the states, to a town called Denver in 1993 and I’ve been living here ever since. 1993 was also the year that put a guitar in my hands, and started my musical career. I played in a few bands (Epistaxis and Bucket), and I also play classical music on guitar of course. My favorite guitars are made by Dean and I use a Marshall JCM2000 amp. To be a part of Magyarock enforced me to appreciate and respect Hungarian music. I learned a ton of songs that I have never heard or have never heard of. On top of all I get a nostalgic high when I can play tunes on stage that I grew up listening to and I loved them then as much as I love them now.

Tatara jartam gimibe, azutan Veszpremben dolgoztam a ZOO-ban. Gyorbe vittek hatarornek, leszereles utan az elso ut Ausztriaba vezetett. Ket es fel ev toporgas utan USA. San Diego,kesobb Miami es jelenleg(tobb mint tiz eve mar) Denver. A zene mindig fontos volt, gimis koromban bandaban(TRIDENS) jatszottam hat huron. Utana hosszu szunet, egeszen 2007 tavaszaig, amikor a Magyarock-hoz csatlakoztam es eletemben eloszor
elkezdtem basszgityon potyogni.

I was born very young in a city called Debrecen in 1962 then I grew up in a small place called Oroszlany. I spent my high school years in Tata. After high school I worked in the Zoo in Veszprem. When I was drafted in the army, I was taken to Gyor as a border-patrolmen. After my discharge I split to Austria. After two and a half year of waiting around I came to the USA. First to San Diego, then to Miami and now, for more than the last 10 years, to Denver. Music was always important. I played guitar in high school in a band called Tridens. Then a long break all the way up until 2007, when I joined Magyarock. The first time in my life I was playing on bass.

A Magyarock egyuttes nepszeru magyar eloadok dalait dolgozza fel es adja elo a kulfoldi magyarok szorakoztatasara.
Az egyuttes utja 2003 decembereben indult, amikor egy szilveszteri osszejovetel alkalmabol a denveri magyarsag elott lepett fel a zenekar. Akkor meg nevtelenul es mondhatnank azt is hogy akkor meg celtalanul. Majd egy ev multan a kovetkezo szilveszterre megint elojott az otlet hogy megismetelni a tavaji sikert. Nehany uj tag toborozasaval ujra osszeallt egy program es mostmar egy kicsit komolyabb erobevetessel keszult az akkor meg mindig nevtelen zenekar. 2005 hozta azt az otletet hogy az egyuttes fel legyen ruhazva allando tagokkal akik eltokeltek abban hogy a zenet profi modon tanuljak meg es adjak elo. Ahogy telt az ido a zenekar egyre tobb dalt tanult meg, es egyre jobb,es kifinomultabb stilusban adta oket elo. 2005 szeptembereben egy Las Vegasi fellepes utan szuletett az a dontes hogy az egyuttes meglatogasson es fellepjen olyan varosokban ahol nagyobb magyar kozossegek leteznek. Ebben az idoben sok gondolat szuletett az egyuttes nevevel kapcsolatban. Egy rovidke ideig a "Gittegylet" neven futott a zenekar, de valahogy megsem illett jol ez a nev. Par honap mulva egy szojatek utan lett a zenekar elkeresztelve a Magyarock nevre. Termeszetesen a jo tervbe is csuszhat egy kis hiba. Az akkori tagok (2 tag kivetelevel) mind amerikai sracok voltak akik egy ido utan meguntak a magyar zenet, ugyhogy 2007 uj tagok keresesevel indult. Igy allt ossze a jelenlegi felallas, 4 magyar sraccal. Azota is a Magyarock egyuttes tobb allambeli fellepessel bizonyitotta hogy a magyar zene az 1950-es evektol a mai idokig athidalhato es eloadhato olyan modon hogy mindenki megtalalja a maganak illot. Az egyuttes programja egeszen Szecsi Pal, Mate Peter, Varga Miklos dalaitol a Bikini, Edda, KFT, Beatrice egyutteseken at egeszen a Tankcsapda, Ruzsa Magdi es meg sokkal tobb mas eloadok dalain ivel at.
The Magyarock (Translation: Hungarains and/or Hungarian rock) is a Hungarian cover band covering popular songs from various Hungarian artists and performing them mostly to their fellow countrymen and women living abroad, and also to all who come to their concerts. The band was formed in 2003 for a New Years Eve party, where the group performed for the Hungarian community in Denver. At that time the band was without a name and without goals. With a year’s passing the idea presented itself again to repeat last year’s success. After acquiring a few new members, a new program was put together, and the group began preparations with more effort than before. 2005 brought the idea that the band should have steady, solid members who are dedicated in learning and performing the songs in a professional manner. As the time had passed Magyarock learned more and more songs and they started to perform them skillfully and proficiently. In September of 2005 after a performance in Las Vegas the band decided to visit other out of state towns where larger pockets of Hungarian populations existed. At that time a lot of thought and consideration went into naming the group. For a short while the band bore the “Gittegylet” name, but that was not really befitting. A few months later due to a word play the band was dubbed Magyarock. As it is with all good plans there was to be a flaw. At that time, with the exception of 2 members all the musicians in the band were American who, after a while, were no longer interested in playing Hungarian music. So the year 2007 kicked off with the search for new mates. That is how the current line up came to be with 4 Hungarian guys. Since then the Magyarock proved that Hungarian music from the 1950 to the present can be gapped, and can be played in a manner so that it is entertaining to all in attendance, and every member of the audience can find something to their liking.
