A woman came up to me and said I'd like to poison your mind with wrong ideas that appeal to you, though I am not unkind. She looked at me, I looked at something written across her scalp. And these are the words that it faintly said as I tried to call for help...
Conveniently that post doesn't say what was agreed on in 2008...
The McCain is Bush 2.0 is another overdone argument. McCain is NOT Bush. McCain has, in his own words, "...disagreed [with Bush] over the conduct of the war in Iraq and the treatment of detainees, over out of control government spending and budget gimmicks, over energy policy and climate change, over defense spending that favored defense contractors over the public good. " (Article)
Going back to O'Reilly, I will let you have the last word. I am getting tired of going back and forth via comments. Vote for whoever you want to vote for. I am not commenting back after this.
Barack has Written a total of 890 Bills and Co-sponsored Another 1096 since he started serving in the U.S. Senate.
(I'd call that significantly more than NOTHING, wouldn't you?
Yes, he has written many, and sponsored/co-sponsored many more, but how many have been actually made into law?
Doesn't matter though, because the experience/in-experienced nonsense has been over done. Palin, though she does have executive experience, is still pretty green herself. No matter who is elected, they will all be surrounded by advisers and "experts".
What I look for in a president is someone who I feel is a good decision maker who can make tough decisions. I just don't see that in Obama.
I do not believe that offshore drilling is a realistic "solution" to our problems at the pump. Regardless, Obama has said that he would NOT oppose offshore drilling if it were part of a more overarching strategy to lower energy costs.
This is one issue I disagree with both candidates on. Do Americans really believe that our gas prices are linked to the events the media tells us they are? All throughout 2007, if a bee farted in Zimbabwe, our gas prices would go up. This year, despite every doom and gloom event taking place, the prices continue to go back down. Our domestic reserves are not depleted or in danger of being depleted any time soon. 1.8 to 6 Trillion barrels of oil are estimated in the U.S. Oil-Shale Reserves. (DOE)
Big oil companies are simply trying to be more profitable and are bilking us with the support of the current regime. Offshore drilling is a boondoggle. Much of the oil originating in Alaska goes to Japan, not the United States. Japan pays a higher price.
A jihad is "a holy war undertaken as a sacred duty". That sure sounds like what she said to me. Would you prefer the word "crusade?"
"Spunk?" "Pizzaz?" That rhetoric smacks of those ridiculous Paris Hilton ads. Attacking Obama for being charismatic is moot. If the man has Kennedy/Reagan-esque charm, so what? It's not why I'm voting for him. Hissing and booing at the guy, calling him elitist because he has an education might work for the toothless redneck voters, but it's not going to sway me.
As for what has Obama done? The list got too long for MySpace's reply buffer, so I posted his canonical list of accomplishments (to date) on my MySpace blog for your perusal.
Do you really think that Palin is for a Jihad? I think that is a little bit extreme.
As far as your concern for who will be the next president why would you back Obama then? The man has done NOTHING significant his entire career in the senate (Which has been a very short career by the way).
I too am fed up with the current administration. I admit that I liked Bush after his first term, but he certainly disappointed me in his second. I want a change as well, and that's why I like McCain. He is a little more middle of the road, and he says that he will reach out to both sides of the isle and try to get away from the bipartisan nonsense that keeps shit from getting done in Washington.
I am also sick of paying $4-$5 a gallon for gas, and would like to see less dependence on foreign oil.
Sure, Obama looks to develop alternative fuel sources, which is great, but that doesn't help us now. Maybe in ten years or so, but not now.
McCain wants to drill offshore to get us what we need NOW, as well as develop alternative fuel sources.
As far as attacking me about Bill O'Reilly...I don't listen to Bill O'Reilly. I actually was leaning a little more towards Obama for a while, but after following him through the DNC, as well as following McCain through the RNC, it became clear to me that Obama is full of spunk, pizzaz and showmanship but seriously lacks substance.
I do. It's my country she wants to run. And if the GOP wins this round, mother nature's going to give her pretty good odds at running it with John McSame taking the oath at 72 years old with one heart attack down.
Being religious is one thing, but you don't think that her conviction that this is God's work in Iraq (jihad?) is anything to be concerned about? Particularly interesting pandering on her part, considering just a year ago she said, "I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq. "
You'd think that someone who believes that God is calling America to fight in Iraq would have had more conviction about it all along. But then, you'd also think that someone who believed they were backed by God by being an American wouldn't be so supportive of fringe Alaskan groups trying to secede from the union.
As for left versus right? C'mon now, that's no argument. That's Bill O'Reilly brand stonewall bravado. I'm not a Democrat and never have been. I'm just a fed-up conservative that isn't taking everything the GOP is shoveling down my throat anymore. I'm also highly interested in getting to know all about the person who would be a heartbeat away from the presidency behind the oldest man to ever run for the office. She's not off-limits to scrutiny.
Plus, if your 17-year-old daughter getting knocked up is "average", then America's in deeper trouble than anyone believes. Ironic how the very same community of religious whackjobs that condemned Jamie Lynn Spears' mother for her underage pregnancy (what a rotten mother!) so quickly embraced this dark horse unknown so quickly (she's so down to earth and JUST LIKE US.) The irony would be funny if the ignorance in this country weren't so real.
I think the left is reaching pretty far to find something wrong with Palin. So she is religions. So her daughter is 17 and pregnant. I think those things make her more human, a little more down to earth, and a little more in touch with the average American.
