My name is Maria Kimdal, also called Manah-siksa Devi Dasi, poet and musician from the north of Sweden.
Music, just like poetry and other Arts, can work as commercial ways to financial profit, but can also be so much more. Words and music are instruments for the thought and a means of communication between people in our world of today, and also between people in different ages of time.
True art, in all its different forms of expressions, is that art which affects us. My hope is that something of what I have written and composed, will affect someone in this world. The poem is born from the poet's heart, the melodies from the heart of the composer, and if it occurs that this art, after having flickered through the cyberspaces, finally land in someone's heart, then this music has reached its goal.
My gratitude and dedication go to the Origin of all fine arts, the Supreme Artist, who lives within all of us and beyond Time and Space.
Despite having worked with and composed music since at least 30 years, only in August this year, 2007, my first CD, Names Unlimited, was released. I never had this ambition, though, but after support and much pushing from my friends, it was finally realized.
My partner in making this CD is Mikael Sjödin, who has spent a lot of time and energy in his OmniRasa studio to elaborate all the material. He contributed not only with his recording studio, but also with additional arrangements, backing and leading vocals, several instruments and good ideas.
