Formed in 2003, Man Automatic have continually set themselves apart from other acts by refusing to compromise their sonic vision to cater to a fleeting industry standard. Man Automatic’s early recordings quickly became local radio hits. In 2005, 106X, Redding's leading rock radio station received more requests for the band’s “Runaway” than any other song in rotation. In the fall of 2006, the band caught the attention of record producer, Malcolm Springer (Matchbox 20, Collective Soul), who brought them out to Nashville to record an EP. The result of their efforts was a 5-song masterpiece, loaded with emotion and musical vitality. The tracks are powerfully inviting; as they range from moving to devastating, they indulge the psyche and are sure to become memorable radio hits. In late 2007, Grammy award-winning engineer, Thom Russo (Audioslave, System of a Down, Johnny Cash), took charge of mixing the EP, and 'In the Eyes of a Child' came alive. “The EP came out really strong,” says Russo. “They are a stellar band.”
Man Automatic recently secured distribution with Best Buy, as well as endorsements with Peavey, Warwick, SWR, Michael Tobias Design, Lopo, Voodoo Labs, Tigi BedHead and WB Custom Pickups. Currently touring, and with a considerably more mature EP under their belts, Man Automatic is an up-and-comer that cannot be missed.
