Mangrove Kipling lives in Berlin since 2002. Frenchman from Nantes where he was member of the DDM collective now "HUB". In Berlin he grounded with Sciss the label Apostrov'. He is an active member of Salon Bruit, a Berlin-based platform for border-crossing experimental Arts, including sound-, video- and performative forms.
His works evolve between solo and many collaborations, among which a few bands can be presented as permanent: Anton Sulak (with FormVollEndeT, Ger.), Le Code (with Keyframed, Fr.), TV Print (with Antena, CZ), Ambient Massaker (with Lifeloop Irl.), Michigan 21 (with Emmanuel Rabu) and Tupolew, which is a post-rock oriented band with Snoother, Amoebazoid, and Markofthedevil.
Mangrove Kipling uses different instruments: the guitar, the violin, the lapsteel guitar and the laptop. All intermingle in his work in order to create a specific sonic language where noise meets melody, field-recordings and circuit-bending processings.
Has internationally played with number of musicians and for dancers, visual artists and performers (Meg Stuart, Laura Bruce,Abraham Hurtado, Kai Schiemenz, Keith Hennessy (Circo Zero), Jess Curtis (Jess Curtis Gravity), Sarah Shelton Mann, Kathleen Hermesdorf (La Alternativa), Stephanie Maher (Ponderosa), Yuko Kaseki (Cokaseki), Frank Willens, Mayumi Fukuzaki, Pipaluk Supernova (Half-Machine, Live Art Installations), Shahar Dor, Arnaud Théval).
