Manifesta is a collective of ladies, grrrls, gentlemen, women, bois, and queers based in Leeds, UK. Manifesta aims to create supportive spaces for the self-expression of people of all genders and sexualities through art, music and culture. Manifesta seeks to challenge sexist, homophobic, and transphobic attitudes through the DIY organisation and promotion of inclusive music events. Responsible for the club night Suck My Left One previously held at the Common Place every fourth Friday of the month as well as loads of gigs and all-dayers which have included national and international acts such as The Gossip, Lesbians on Ecstasy, Scream Club, Sky Larkin, Jean Genet, The Long Blondes, The Priscillas, Blood Red Shoes, Wet Dog, Partyline, Gravy Train!!!!, Bonfire Madigan, and Spider and the Webs. Manifesta is a big supporter of queer and feminist performers and encourages such bands to submit demos and join their network. Manifesta runs a distro and has a collective zine Reassess Your Weapons.
