The call to arms from thundering, compelling riffs and dangerous hook lines, the war cries from metal maniacs! Manngard’s “European Cowards” throws you headfirst into the mosh pit, while adding something new to their patented death/black/thrash metal sound, a disturbing, mean, downright evil atmosphere, delivered with their trademark aggression and strangely alluring progressive elements. Unique in their approach to the genre, Manngard are blasting out a decidedly organic sound, avoiding the triggered drums and sterile production of their contemporaries.
On this, their second album, the field of lyrics is widened, from the murky backwoods of their hellish origins to the old confrontations between Europe and the USA, the consequences of inherited aversions of injustice, following annexation of new territories. Manngard has fled from the path of the many, the conform, and demand divine justice, redressing all the wrongs that have been done, the flag of rebellion is flying high...
“European Cowards” was produced and engineered by Iver Sandøy, lyrics by Olav Kristiseter cover concept and design by Olav Iversen.
In August of this year, Manngard will play the Hole In The Sky festival in Bergen, Norway, presenting the material from the new album live for the first time.
