Marching Band is an indie pop band based in Linköping, Sweden. In 2008, their first full-length album Spark Large was recorded and highlights the bands one of a kind indie pop sound. While the group does use the mainstay rock sounds of guitars, drums and bass guitar, they also employ an array of more eccentric musical instruments for an indie pop band, such as banjo, vibraphone, Arp Solina and unique vocal harmonies.
Swedish duo MARCHING BAND continue to land in playlists around the globe with their debut album SPARK LARGE that is out now in the US and Japan, with a lot of european countries to follow this spring. The critically lauded album features an eclectic mix of instrumentation that delivers sweet atmospheric folk and indie-pop. The album was released on August 5 from U&L Records and is out in stores now.
Right now MARCHING BAND is writing songs for their second album that will be released on U&L records.
MARCHING BAND quickly gained early radio support in Los Angeles when tracks from the new album surfaced on KCRW and INDIE 103.1. Since then, Marching Band has been put into rotation at radio nationwide including an NPR "World Cafe" feature and adds in New York, Boston, Seattle, Chicago, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Philadelphia and beyond.
MARCHING BAND's music has been featured in such Films and TV as Zombieland (Sony Picture Entertainment), Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist (Sony Pictures), 90210 (CW), How I Met Your Mother (CBS) and Greek (ABC).
