Marco Petrone, nato a Gela nel 1984, ha iniziato gli studi musicali all’età di 10 anni focalizzando subito la sua attenzione sullo studio della chitarra jazz, che studierà per parecchi anni.
Profondamente influenzato dalla musica classica ed in particolare dalle armonie barocche di compositori come Bach ed Haendel, o come quelle del più recente Paganini, decide di inscriversi al conservatorio con il solo scopo di coglierne l’essenza.
Nel 2000 grazie ad un brillante esame entra direttamente al quarto anno accademico di conservatorio.
Nel 2001 vince parecchi concorsi nazionali di musica classica per sola chitarra, fra cui il primo premio “Gaetano Emanuele Calì”, presso Gravina di Catania, ed il secondo premio “Benedetto Albanese” presso la città di Caccamo.
Nello stesso anno ha ricevuto premi e riconoscimenti da parte di critici di notevole spessore.
Nel 2001 fonda gli Eternity, il gruppo Epic-Power Metal di stampo Neoclassico del quale ancora fa parte e per il quale compone musiche e testi, assolvendo il ruolo anche di chitarrista solista.
Nel 2002 inizia una stagione concertistica con tappe in tutta la Sicilia, alcune delle quali di notevole pregio, come l’ “Incontro con giovani talenti musicali” presso lo Jachting Club di Catania, dove si è esibito come chitarra classica solista.
Suo è stato anche il concerto d’apertura al congresso internazionale di genetica, bioetica, medicina, antropologia e filosofia denominato “Humanitas” tenutosi ad Acireale, presso il quale ha eseguito in formazione di trio la “Carmen” di Bizet. Da una tappa della stessa stagione concertistica è stato tratto un Cd live.
Durante lo stesso anno studia composizione e contrappunto, ed effettua un’attenta analisi musicale dei “Canoni” e delle “Toccate e Fughe” di Bach.
Nel 2003 inizia a lavorare ad un progetto solista denominato “Rhy Of Light”, che concluderà nell’agosto dello stesso anno.
Nello stesso anno inizia a insegnare chitarra moderna e chitarra Hard & Heavy presso diverse scuole e accademie musicali. Si specializza nell’insegnamento della chitarra Neoclassica, scrivendo molti esercizi finalizzati allo sviluppo della stessa e componendo studi atti ad aiutare gli Allievi nell’apprendimento e perfezionamento del genere.
Nel 2006 si trasferisce a Padova e si iscrive al corso di laurea in "tecnico del suono per sala di registrazione" presso il conservatorio Pollini.
Entra a far parte per un breve periodo dei Kautery, gruppo Brutal Metal di Padova che lascerà in breve.
Nello stasso anno inizia la stesura del suo "Live'n'Bury", album Death-Prog-Brutal, che vede alla voce l'ex Shattered Ian.
Nell'Ottobre 2007 finisce le registrazioni del Promo di "Live'n'Bury".
Nel mese di Novembre 2007, come tecnico del suono, effettua diverse registrazioni al teatro La Fenice di Venezia, al Teatro Verdi di Padova ed al Duomo di Padova. Le registrazioni fatte al teatro La Fenice di Venezia saranno trasmesse in RAI ed il suo nome inserito dell'opuscolo ufficiale della stagione concertistica della Ars Nova in qualità di Tecnico del Suono.
Attualmente impegnato in studio nell’incisione di diversi Cd, e con i Great Master (band lagunare distribuita da AudioGlobe), e da solista, e come chitarrista solista turnista, continua le esibizioni e gli insegnamenti.

Marco Petrone was born is Gela in 1984. He started studying
music at the age of ten focusing his attention on jazz
guitar and studying this genre for several years. Deeply
influenced by classic music and in particular by the
harmonies of baroque composers such as Bach, Haendel or
Paganini. He decided to attend the conservatory of music
just to catch its essence.
In 2000, thanks to a brilliant preliminary exams he entered
straight to the 4th years of the conservatory. In 2001 he
wan severals music competitions for classic guitar such as
the first Gaetano Emanuele prize in Gravina di Catania and
the second Benedetto Albanese prize of Caccamo, during the
same year he received prices and acknowledgments from very
important italian critics.
On 2001 he formed Eternity, an epic-power-metal-neoclassic
band in which he still plays and for whom he still composes
their music and lyrics, playing as solo guitarist.
In 2002 he began a concert-season touring all Sicily. Some
of these dates were really important such as the concert at
the Jachting Club of Catania where he played as classic
solo-guitar. He played also at the international congress of
genetics, bioethics, medicine, anthropology and philosophy
in Acireale where he played Bizet's Carmen with a classic
trio. Recording a live-cd of the tour.
During the same year he studied composition and counterpoint
and analyzed Bach's Canons and toccata's and fugues.
In 2003 he started working on a solo-project named Rhy of
light which ended on September of the same year. During the
same year he began giving classes of modern and H&H guitar
in some mucis academies. He specialized in neoclassical
guitar teaching, writing several exercises to help students
improving and perfecting their technique.
In 2006 he moved to Padua and attended the course for
“sound engineering” at Pollini music conservatory. He
joined the band Kautery, brutal-metal band from Padua, but
splited up very shortly. During the same year he started
composing “Live'n'Bury” death-prog-brutal record with
Ian, former member of Shattered, performing on vocals.
In Oct 2007 he finished the recordings of the demo-tape of
Live'n'Bury.
In Novembre 2007, working as sound engineer, he ran some
recordings at La Fenice theatre, Verdi theatre in Padua and
Padova duomo-cathedral. The recording sets run at La Fenice
theater will be broadcast by RAI and his name will be
indicated as sound engineer into the official brochure of
Ars Nova concert season.
At the moment he is working as solo guitarist with Great Master and as solo artist, still exhibiting and
teaching.
