Marina Celeste is one of the lead vocalists from acclaimed French outfit Nouvelle Vague, featuring on both their debut and second albums, and performing on much of their two world tours while four years..
She also duets with the legendary Terry Hall, of The Specials, on Nouvelle Vague 3, performing a trademark Nouvelle Vague rendition of his 1980s Fun Boy Three track, 'Our Lips Are Sealed'.
As a singer-songwriter in her own right, she is currently recording her Third solo album, THE ANgel POP, for release in June 2010. A distinctly French mix of pure and electro pop, it also evokes the film soundtracks of Ennio Morricone and John Barry. Her first solo album, Acidule, released in France in 2005 in Japan and then 2007 in Europe, featured the fresh and subtle arrangements of Marc Collins, the man behind Nouvelle Vague. Here she introduced her distinctive brand of French electro pop, both ethereal and luminous, to critical acclaim.
Prior to that, she performed on Cinema Enchanté, a concept album interpreting rare 1960s French film tracks, predominantly from the nouvelle vague movement. This was originally released in Japan in 2006 and then re-released in France in 2007, along with Acidule, as a limited edition double album.
THE ANgel POP – The dream of a pop angel
For this latest project Marina has assembled a band of gifted musicians who have already accompanied her live, and a new – younger, more street – producer, Mr B. THE ANgel POP moves into more eclectic terrain, straddling pop, rock and atmospheric music. Several tracks are in the purest Bristolian trip hop tradition, the perfect showcase for Marina's voice. However she lends her vocal talents equally successfully to the 70s-style guitar rock and faster-paced electro tracks.
In short, this album promises a glimpse into the weird and wonderful inner world of Marina Celeste....

Marina est une incroyable Auteur Compositrice Interprète, "The ANgel POP" son nouvel album sortira en juin 2010.
Elle a sorti au Japon puis en France un album pop français avec Marc Collin "Acidulé" salué par la critique. Projet aux arrangements raffinés et originaux, aux ambiances éthérées et pétillantes, aux confins de la chanson de l'electro pop et de la french touch . "Acidule" est sorti ensuite en France dans un coffret digipack double album, une édition limitée comprenant "Cinéma enchanté".
Cet autre album, "Cinéma enchanté" sorti en 2006 au Japon, est un album de reprise des chansons de films, des années 60. On y trouve des titres rares, tels "les aventuriers" de François de Roubaix, à des chansons phares telles "Amour, amour" extraite du film "Peau d'âne".
Enfin, Marina enregistre actuellement son troisieme album solo "THE ANgel POP" dont la sortie est prevue au printemps 2010 ... Sortie de l'EP a l'automne 2009.
Pour ce nouvel opus, Marina s’est entourée d’un groupe acoustique qui l’a déjà accompagnée sur scène avec un set de batterie à moitié électronique et à moitié percussion, et aussi d’un nouveau réalisateur plus jeune, plus urbain que les précédents. Monsieur B. The ANgel POP va vers un univers plus éclectique. Aux confins de la pop, du rock et d’une musique atmosphérique, l’album The Angel POP, nous présente un univers richement ésotérique. Plusieurs titres aux arrangements léchés sont dans la plus pur tradition bristolienne de la trip hop, ce qui est le parfait écrin pour la voix de Marina Céleste. Marina s’attaque de façon inédite à l’univers de la pop avec une finesse qui lui est propre. Elle arrive à passer avec le même talent aussi bien sur des morceaux aux guitares rock avec des réminiscences seventies que sur des morceaux électro plus rapides.
Vous l’aurez compris ce disque est une jolie invitation au monde merveilleux de Marina Céleste et un aperçu du doux mystère qu’il lui reste à nous révéler.
