Calificada por la crítica como “Thriller Rock” debido a la temática de las letras altamente influenciada por el cine y las teleseries, esta banda de rock/metal de Euskadi se formó en 2006 por David González (Bajo - Berri Txarrak , TT L.T.) y Josu Luengo (Guitarra - Evirus69). Poco después completaron la formación Haritz Lete (Voz - Kokein) y Ekain Elorza (Batería - Dinero).

Su primer disco "The Strong Arm of The Rock" (Marion Cobretti Records, 2007) recoge gran número de críticas positivas en la prensa estatal y la banda pasa los dos siguientes años presentándolo con su arrollador directo. En 2010 vuelven al estudio a grabar su segundo álbum llamado “Thriller” (Kaiowas Records) publicado a principios del 2011. Diez cortes directos y contundentes llenos de energía influenciados por grupos clásicos como Black Sabbath o Deep Purple y bandas más modernas como Clutch, Soundgarden, Metallica, Down o Mastodon.

Esta vez el grupo se embarca en una nueva aventura. La de versionear bandas sonoras clásicas de la historia del cine. Su nuevo trabajo lleva por nombre “Covered (a selection of film scores)” (kaiowas records, 2012) y está compuesto por cinco cortes. Pasajes sonoros convertidos en canciones de rock/metal al estilo más clásico. Todo un ejercicio de experimentación donde la banda da un paso más dentro de su discografía. COBRA intenta, una vez más, unir dos mundos históricamente relacionados entre si, la música y el cine.

Hitzetan zinema eta telesailen eragin garbia dela eta, kritikak "Thriller Rock" bezala izendatutako rock/metal talde hau, 2006an sortu zen David Gonzalez (Baxua - Berri Txarrak, TT L.T.) eta Josu Luengoren (Gitarra - Evirus69) eskutik. Handik gutxira Haritz Letek (Ahotsa - Kokein) eta Ekain Elorzak (Bateria - Dinero) osatu zuten taldea.

"The Strong Arm Of The Rock" (Marion Cobretti Records, 2007), euren lehen diskoak, estatuko prentsan kritika on ugari jaso zituen eta hurrengo bi urteak berau aurkezten aritu ziren zuzenean duten indar guztia erakutsiz. 2010ean beraien bigarren lana, "Thriller" (Kaiowas Records) deiturikoa grabatzera sartu ziren, 2011ren urte hasieran kaleratuko dena. Energiaz beteriko hamar kanta zuzen eta sendo aurkitu ditzazkegu bertan non Black Sabbath edota Deep Purple talde klasikoen eta modernoagoak diren Clutch, Soundgarden, Metallica, Down edota Mastodonen eragina ikusi daitekeen.

Oraingoan taldea abentura berri batean murgildu da, Zinearen historian izan diren zenbait soinu banden bertsioak eginez. Bere lan berriak “Covered (a selection of film scores)” (kaiowas records, 2012) du izenburu eta bost abestiz osatuta dago. Soinu pasarte hauek modu klasikoan landutako rock/metal abestietan bilakatu dira. Taldeak pauso bat gehiago eman du bere diskografiaren barruan esperimentazio ariketa hau eginda. COBRA beste behin ere historikoki oso loturik izan diren bi mundu elkartzen saiatu da, musika eta zinea.

Labelled by the critics as ¨Thriller rock¨ due to the influence of action movies and TV series in their lyrics, this rock/metal band from the Basque Country was formed back in 2006 by David González (Bass - Berri Txarrak , TT L.T.) and Josu Luengo (Guitar - Evirus69). Later on Haritz Lete (Vocals- Kokein) and Ekain Elorza (Drums - Dinero) joined them establishing the actual line-up.

Their debut album ¨The Strong Arm Of The Rock¨ (Marion Cobretti Records, 2007) gets positive reviews from the media and the band spends the next two years touring and leaving audiences in awe with their crushing live show. In 2010 the band goes back in the studio to record the follow-up, entitled ¨Thriller¨ (Kaiowas Records), an album to be released in early 2011. Ten powerful and straightforward tracks influenced by classic bands like Black Sabbath or Deep Purple and modern acts such as Clutch, Soundgarden, Metallica, Down or Mastodon.

This time the band faces a new adventure. Covering classic film´s themes and scores. Cobra´s new work entitled “Covered (a selection of film scores)” (Kaiowas records, 2012), features five tracks with sonic landscapes turned into classic style rock/metal songs. A true challenging endevour, knee-deep in experimentation, that gets the band a step further in its discography. COBRA tries, once again, to unify two worlds that traditionally are usually experienced together, music and cinema.
