Martay signed her first major recording contract with Chrysalis records at the tender age of 14 as a singer/rapper alongside music producer David Brian Massey. Collectively they went by the name of M C Martay ’n’ D.B.M. Their debut single "Summertime" afforded the honour of Re-mixes by Jungle Brothers and Norman ’Fat boy slim’ Cook and also saw M C Martay featuring on Rebel MC’s album "Black meaning good" and on the re-mix of the Urban Cookie Collectives’ single "The Key the secret". She later went on to sign her second deal as a solo recording artist with Riverhorse Records (Sony music) under the name of Martay, and a publishing deal with Riverhorse Songs. Her First release "Gimme all your lovin’ 2000" featuring ZZ Top, gained Martay recognition in the U.K and all over Europe, with mixes by Thunderpuss, Jules and Stone, Stella Brown and E-Smoove. Her follow up single "Take you there" recieved the magic touch of R’n’B producers Full Crew. Whilst things were on the up for Martay, with the release of her solo debut album iminent, the label unfortunately disbanded. However she continued to work, doing personal appearances and becoming featured vocalist for the likes of Mike Oldfield, (famously known for Tubular Bells) on his album "The Millenium Bell", dueting with Erroll Brown from Hot Chocolate, on his solo album entitled "Still Sexy" and also dueting with Michael McDonald on the Re-make of his 80’s classic "Minute by minute".
2003 saw martay performing in The walt Disney Production of The Lion King, in Londons West End and later on becoming and still currently performing in the hit show "Stomp", as well as finding time to write and perform music.
In 2007 Martay began writing/working on an album project with German Breakdance champions Flying Steps, and can be heard on their latest single "Operator". Currently Martay is working with music producer/Hed Kandi Dj, Miss Kelly Marie, on various music projects and new years 2007 saw the ladies performing in Egypt at Kandi Bar and Ministry Of Sound.
