Anything that moves me really but pretty much all things delicate and acoustic, Nick Drake, Damien Rice, Tim Buckley, Tom McRae, Iron and Wine, Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, Ron Sexsmith, Kate Rusby, a lot of 60's-70's west coast America - especially The Beach Boys, (melodic) English folk, Americana - all things dark and beautiful!!! Oh yeah and Pink Floyd!
So here's the deal. I've quit my job and moved out of my bedsit to become a wandering troubadour. I've always been a wandering troubadour though i've never really wandered too far out of my comfort zone, until now. I intend to live wherever the road takes me armed with only a guitar and a canvas roof to shelter me. I don't know where i'm headed or how long i'll stay there, I only know that right now, this is something I have to do.
I've decided to list my 'top' friends as the people who in the past have believed in me enough to offer me chances most unsigned acts don't get. It's not an arrogant boast - more a gentle nudge to try and convince venues or promoters to allow a stranger to play in their home towns.

Martin Hughes, I can't work technology. I have just spent 35 very frustrated minutes trying to get my flipping laminator to heat up before I realised that I had it on the cool setting. I am not happy that I am insufficient in completing such simple tasks. Why does it even have a cool setting I ask you? I also had a near death (sort of) experience as it was making a funny noise so I tried to get close to it before realising my hair was about half a millimetre away from being fed through. Rubbish.
I was thinking that maybe tomorrow if I survive the day of mean teens could we try and get Lost again? A Martin fix and a Hurley fix may be just what I need! You are in charge of the technical bits though xxxx

Hello! I was just saying to Rob last night that I would have to write you a message cos we both said how long it is since we had seen you and Helen! We're hopefully going to come to one of your gigs, can't come on Saturday because of family stuff unfortunately but should be able to make the January one. Say hi to Helen for me and hope you all have a lovely Christmas!
