-------MCB is like a mix between Xenakis, Kate Bush, Roland Kirk, and Mozart. Her music is a specialized blend of acoustic and processed extended flute/vocal technique. In addition to her flute playing, her multi instrumental range spreads from contemporary micro tonal flute compositions, laptop improvisation, rock and pop singing, to piano ballads and noise.
-------In addition to her own compositions, MCB plays in the live band for people such as Mocky, Kevin Blechdom, and Dominique Leone and has recently appeared on albums by artists such as Kevin Blechdom, Linstrom, and the Boredoms.
-------MCB holds a B.A in composition/electronic media, from Mills College where she studied composition with Fred Frith. She has studied flute with both Angela Korogelos and Robert Dick. In 2008, MCB curated RADIO VILLAGE NOMADE at Werner Penzel's (Step Across the Border) Laboratoire Village Nomade. She has held residencies as both Village Nomade and the Atlantic Center for the Arts.
