Are scales really that important? I mean there can't be a scale for every possible progression yeh? And in any one song there could be 2 or more different scales right...? I ask because I'm learning all the Roots, 3rds, 5ths, 7ths, and etc of the guitar chords so I can apply them to bass. But now I'm to a point where I keep seeing things about learning all the scales. I guess I can see how it would be kind of helpful, but a lot of me is thinking that there isn't a point, especially if you know all the notes in any given chord. But I dunno, maybe I dont understand it right. Tell me what you think, im curious.
