My name is Matthew. I was born and raised in London, England. I began learning the Piano and Guitar at thirteen years of age and later studied composition and orchestration.
I studied the guitar at the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama as an undergraduate, and as a post graduate under Dr S.Goss (Surrey University) on Masters programme studying performance and composition : During this period I was fortunate enough to receive masterclasses from musical giants Nicholas Casken, and Oscar winning composer, Gabriel Yared (famous for The English Patient and Betty Blue Eyes).
In addition to the above institutions I studied with a number of subsequent private tutors, including orchestration with Baz Elmes, (For Your Eyes Only, RoboCop) and guitar technique under Gary Ryan, professor of Guitar at the Royal College of music. The man I really cut my teeth under though was Dr Martin Vishnick whom helped me gain Licentiates from the Royal Schools and London Colleges Of Music. More importantly, Martin is the man who really made me believe in myself again. I am indebted to his kindness to me.
For seven years I had been teaching and doing local performances while in my spare time I composed and studied music.
In 2006 and thirty years of age my luck was about to change; a routine publicity e mail was sent to BBC Radio. Much to my excitement I received a call from the shows' producer asking me perform on The Jonathon Withell Sunday morning show.
The show marked a massive personal turning point for me career wise as only a decade earlier I was lost both musically and spiritually, the show proved to me not only how far I had come but how anything was possible.
A week later I made my London debut performing at the beautiful St Paul's Church , Covent Garden, London and released my first cd Moods From the Latin Quarter.
Two years later and having performed in France, the USA and the UK I have just started taking lessons with a hero of mine, Carlos Bonell and working towards a fellowship diploma. In 2010 I am releasing a cd with Classical label MSR Classics. My ambition is to study for a Phd in performance with Carlos Bonell at the Royal College of Music.
I am indebted to three musicians: Dr Steve Goss for expanding my mind and understanding of music, Dr Martin Vishnick for inspiring me and teaching me to fight the good fight! and lastly the spirit of the late Randy Rhoads, whose music has left a mark in me as both a musican, and a human being
Aside from music some of my interests are film (science fiction, action and drama), mystery novels, Biographies, space, philosophy, theology and visiting Pizza restaurants and good pubs

Thank you for making me aware about where I have Just A Matter Of Time Matt. I had neglected to place it after loading. I will move it up and thank you so much for listening and you welcome compliment. If you say it is beautiful it is. You carry a knowledge of musical beauty that only a few can truly posses. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. Don..PS- Loved your new blog my brother.
That's so good to hear from you both. I had heard a rumour that Horse had quit the business and moved to Cornwall to open up a celebrity horseshoe boutique. I was unable to crawl out of bed from the emotional setback to even bother to check if it was true.
How goes it seriously though, everything good? I actually ate a whole pizza yesterday... I need to keep reminding myself I have shows coming up in a couple weeks... :-(

Send out a friend request again for facebook. I'm on there everyday. Sometimes late at night. Hope to see you on there again.I still have on My Space. Lots Of Love:Cathy Alexander(NH)
Hi Matt: Thanks for your concern. I was so upset I expressed on my space. Of all places. I had to vent somewhere:-))) I can't seem to send you a message from your page. Your not on FB so I can't use the chat or e-mail. It's has a lot to do with the economy and we are trying to up keep the house we live in. We made some renovations that were costly. Kitchen, dining and bathrooms. We won't recoup the value because the housing values have dropped about 80,000. We renovated our bathroom and found out this week the new shower was leaking and they have to tear a wall out in my ajoining den wall to fix it. The room didn't need fixing. The new tiles were lifting because of the water damage. The plumber is coming monday to fix it. Maybe they think we have a money tree or something. We are retired, and live comfortably and simple. Only extravagant thing I do is go to a concert now then. Just worried about our future the cost of things going up and what you worked hard for hasn't any value anymore. Take care Sweetie at least your music sooth my fire that is inside of me.:-)))) Lots Of Love: Cathy Alexander(NH)PS: Any better in Europe? There is a lot more to this but I can't write it. Maybe in private.
