Bio:

- born 1972 in Emden

- studied at Hilversum Conservatory/ Amsterdam School of Arts / NL 1992-1997

- leads his own Quintett (CD Still Time Jazz4ever 4789)

- teaches Jazz Trumpet at Musikhochschule Köln and Glen Buschmann Jazz Akademie Dortmund

- Duo Projects with Oliver Schroer (Organ), Jürgen Friedrich (Piano) and Arne Bohnet (Piano)

- regular member of the Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra and Peter Herbolzheimers Rhythm Combination & Brass

- co-leads the Paul Heller - Matthias Bergmann Quintett and the Marcus Bartelt - Matthias Bergmann NDW Projekt

- recorded more than 30 CDs as a Sideman with the bands of Frank Sackenheim, Andreas Schnermann, Francois de Ribaupierre, Uli Brodersen and many others and toured more than 25 countries
