Me Mom and Morgentaler, gave birth to a promising new singer-songwriter. Walking out of the shadows of these 5-time winners of the Montreal Mirrors Readers Poll, Matt Lipscombe now steps into the limelight. He has performed internationally on stages in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. He takes the stage with an acoustic guitar and delights the audience with beautifully-crafted songs. Then he steps to the piano and weaves majestic anthems of loneliness and redemption. .. Born in Montreal, he was raised on café au laits and yorkshire pudding . At Marianopolis college, he co-organized a talent show called Bagels, Lox and Rock and Roll. He booked his own band to play, even though they had never rehearsed. Nevertheless, they had a name: Me Mom and Morgentaler. It was a name so eggregious that the nuns who ran their school would not allow them to perform on site. The rest is history. Countless tours across North America in front of audiences that numbered sometimes upwards of 15,000. They sold over 40,000 records of their three releases. All along, Matt Lipscombe played the bass and wrote most of the songs that propelled that band to legendary status. .. When the band dissolved, he went travelling to South America . Then he skipped town for extended stays in California and British Colombia. Returning to Montreal, he tried normal life for awhile, going back to school and working at an office job. A Concordia University Graduate in English Literature, he enrolled in every single poetry class that they offered. .. Normal life being not what its cracked up to be, he got a regular gig at the legendary Café Sarajevo, following the steps of such luminaries as Rufus Wainwright and Lhasa. Every Thursday, he would perform with the talented singer and piano player, Patrick Watson. They would weave their material around each-other, one being the sun and the other, the moon. .. Nowadays, he is poised and ready to conquer Canada with his first English-Language record, Folk Tales (released in September 2007). ...... ....Check out some sweet..Twitter Backgrounds.................. ....

IMAGINE THE FEELING OF KNOWING YOU "MADE IT" IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY How would that change your life? Or the life of those around you? I'LL LET YOU KNOW A SECRET; one of the main reasons main stream artist's are so successful is they have a great marketing team on their side. That's why you sometimes see "unknown" artist's with way more talent remain an unknown. They don't have a good marketing team working for them.
