MattRock & the PowerBoxx are a group of musicians and friends joined together by catchy songwriting and a need to rock. The music is fun, dance-inspiring rock and roll. These catchy rhythms and melodies carry provocative and often sentimental stories and observations about life, providing ironic introspection with a beat.
The live show put on by MattRock and his troop is almost always referred to as a party. The tunes are easy to dance to, and the lively performers deftly perpetuate the mood. The PowerBoxx gigs are like theme parties. They have donned a range costumes from superheroes and lumberjacks to anti-penguin street clothes. These wardrobes are a visual reflection of the band's musical operation: unified and spectacular. Most of the songs are MattRock originals, but the Powerboxx is prone to throw in a well-chosen cover tune from time to time. By doing so they pay homage to a range of musical groups like Outkast, They Might Be Giants, the Guess Who, and the Talking Heads. Certain to be a crowd pleaser, this group grabs the attention of audiences of all ages and fans have no choice but to jam to the PB.
