My career in the music industry now spans near 20 years & includes working from the ground up - starting out in retail - namely 'Adrians Records' (Wickford, Essex) & 'Soulman Records' (Southend, Essex). Special thanks to 'Tracey Jade' for training me up from the pop head I was - to the dance specialist I now am !!!
Next up came learning the ropes of Club Promotion (which was to become my main job / focus in the industry) c/o the ever so-ecentic (just like me) & wonderful 'Wendy K' at 'Parlophone Records' / 'Talkin' Loud'. I was to become her 'Star Pupil' & thanks to her glowing recommendation I got my first full time job at 'XL Recordings' - setting up & running their in-house Club Promotions Dept (special thanks to Tim Palmer, Richard Russell & Nick Worthington for that opportunity) - working with acts like 'The Prodigy' & 'House Of Pain' - as well as the dance imprints 'Citybeat' (who can forget 'Doop's "Doop") & 'Ore Recordings' & their classics 'Pamela Fernandez's "Kickin' in The Beat" & 'Donna Giles'' "And I Am Telling You (I'm Not Going)").
A chance friendship with my amazing friend & 'co-worker' to be 'Laura Gate-Eastley' - led to a swift departure from 'XL' - to a new position as Head Of Dance Promotions at 'MCA Records' under 'Steve Wolfe'. This was the era of 'Livin' Joy's "Dreamer" & the prime time of urban legends 'Mary J Blige', 'Bobby Brown' & 'Chante Moore' (to name a few of my personal favourites).
Next - I was snatched up once again - this time to set up my own Independant Club Promotions Company 'Hyper-Active' by 'Music-House's 'Simon Walsh'. I went on to run the company & work over 10 years worth of club & pop anthems. I worked nearly every major dance release you could imagine (I won't even try to list them all here) & must say a massive thankyou to 'EVERYONE' that gave me the chance to work such an amazing roster of releases & gave me the astounding record collection I still own today !!!
Now I have gone it alone & whilst I still consult for Music-House / Hyper-Active - my main focus is 'Matt Waterhouse Represents' - my own management company - which boasts an extremely strong line-up of remixers / producers & artists (please refer to my MWR roster for more details). I also hold various music-related consultancies with numerous UK & Int. labels / A&R / Artists & their Management teams.
So again - a massive thanks to everyone that I've worked with so far & everyone who I represent - without whom I would be completely lost !!!
