I've been djing for about 10 years and producing for around four. I got into dubstep through my love of jungle, techno, and grime (electronic music in general), I did a grime weekly for about a year in Vancouver with a couple friends. At around the same time grime was kinda falling off for me I spent a little time in London and picked up a couple 12's like Coki "Officer", Vex'd "Lion" and got really excited about the sound. I started blending these darker elements into my set and about half the people loved and the other half hated it. This went on for some time until Michael Red asked me to become part of lighta! and things started getting more interesting. We were playing parties that had dancehall, jungle, dub, glitch and dubstep all on the same night and people were coming, and then alot of people were coming, and then all of a sudden we had a community. This community is what inspires me to make music.
I have been lucky enough to appear alongside the likes of The Mad Professor,Kode 9, Skream, Dj Vadim, The Bug, Bassnectar, Benga, Caspa, Hatcha, Loefah, Megasoid, Ghislain Poirier, Chefal, Starkey, Youngsta, Dj C, Filastine, Knifehandchop, Deadbeat, and the legendary Remarc. "Live drums, heavy synths, groove and energy are the foundation that Brandan Hale AKA Siren builds on. Hailing from Oregon and now settled in San Francisco, Siren is another new west coast find that has been making his distinctive mark on midtempo breakbeats and dubstep.
With a background of metal influences and playing piano, saxaphone, drums in punk, ska and metal bands, Siren brings both melody and unforgiving edge to his productions. Already making headway with touring the ‘bass’ scenes of the US west, ‘Spawn’ is clearly the first of many releases to come.
Expect bass that hits you in the gut, raw and pounding lead riffs and some epic instrumental accompaniments, truly made for ‘large’ environments or the most urban of basements."-MUTI MUSIC
