The a cappella trio Mayim has dazzled audiences throughout the world since 1992. Ariel Thiermann, Jemila Alldis and Natalie Bridgeman bring a literal life-time of musical experience to bare on their close knit harmonies. The stunning precision and blend that these three young women have attained, from singing together for half their lives, will surely take your breath away, "these divas have crafted an intimate repertoire that blurs the boundary between song and singer." (Metro Santa Cruz 2005).
Mayim performs original folk and soul, classical and sacred music from around the world. These song birds have received acclaim at venues throughout the San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas as well as throughout Europe, performing alongside acts such as Compay Segundo of the Buena Vista Social Club and Zap Mama.
In 1995, Mayim released a self-titled debut album and was selected to perform at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. A year later, Mayim embarked on a six week performing tour through Europe.
In 2001, they released their follow up album "Soul Song" and performed throughout California to sold-out crowds. Soul Song received the runner up award for "Best Folk/Music From Around the World Album" category from the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Association. Mayims latest album Sacred Season was released in December 2005 and features ancient holiday music and their original title track.
Mayim was awarded the 2007 Gail Rich Award for contributions to the arts in Santa Cruz County.
When not singing with Mayim, Ariel has established her solo career as a singer-songwriter and singing circle leader, having released two highly praised solo albums. Jemila is an astrologer and massage therapist in Santa Cruz, while Natalie is an international human rights lawyer based in San Francisco. The music has kept these songbirds close to each other and close to home for over half their lives.
