This isolated and "home made" sound is reflected in her album, where this small and cozy city meets one of the biggest and most exciting cities in the world - New York. Her music is pop / singer- songwriter, and she adds a twist to this genre like few others. She has managed to develop her own special sound with the combination of her strong and solid voice, her songs and her own arrangements. Maylen has a strong presence on stage, and she appears to reach out to every listener that hear her music. Maylen has now gotten the attention from Albetta, and this has opened some doors in her life. Albetta is married to Martha Wainwright, and has been her producer and musician for several years. "Martha is one of my biggest idols, and it has been very inspiring for me to stay in their guest room, and listen to her practice in the living room, while I'm in the addict recording", Maylen sais after visiting the family. In February 2010, Maylen released her first EP "Two Million Miles", with great reviews and feedback. The EP was sold out on her release tour in Norway. The autumn 2010, she moved to Copenhagen to finish her Master degree in music, which she started in Kristiansand (NO) 2007. Maylen will be graduating spring 2012, and she will also be releasing her first album at this time. In October 2011, she was in New York recording her first album. Maylen has big ambitions with her music, both as an artist and as a songwriter. She wishes to reach out to a bigger audience, both national and international. March 2012 she will be making a small tour in Switzerland together with the Swiss singer- songwriter, Ursina Giger.
