Maze Studios offers the finest combination of modern and vintage equipment available today. Mixing old and new, Maze strives to offer the best in modern digital editing and recording while also providing the warmth and vibe of vintage preamp and EQ design.
The personal studio of producer/engineer Ben H. Allen, Maze is a 'hybrid' design. Based around a Pro Tools HD2 system with plug ins from Waves, URS, Sony and others, the studio also allows for 16 channels of analog summing and 8 channels of hardware inserts at mixdown.
Come in and record vocals through the handmade Lawson U47 copy, straight into a Neve 3118 preamp/EQ, pass it through a UA1176 compressor and send it into the computer through 24 channels of Apogee and Lynx A-to-D conversion. Tweak your sounds with plugins from Waves like the Classic bundle or pitch vocals with Melodyne or Auto Tune. When you're ready to mix, sum 16 analog channels through our Neve 8816 analog buss, run vocals out to 2 Demeter tube spring reverbs then compress your whole mix with the API 2500 compressor.
