Well, I've started this page because I'm a writer. I've written all my life, poems, songs, stories, I wrote my first novel, Dena Powers: Superhero? about six years ago. It was entered in the Amazon/Penguin sponsored Breakthrough Novel Award Contest, where it placed in the top 100 out of 5000. I have also finished the second and third book in the series, Dena Powers: The Trouble with Boys, and Dena Powers: Ollie's Story. I have a work of adult fiction under my belt, and a couple of chick lit pieces in the works. I have also completed another YA novel, Mending Fences, and plan to enter it in the 2009 ABNA contest.
Who I'd like to meet: Jesus Christ, Ellen Degeneres, Emily Dickinson, Harry Potter, Bono, John Cusack,

JK Rowling, John Muir, Robinson Jeffers, Rob Thomas, Matt Hasselbeck, all the wonderful writers I met through the ABNA contest last year.
I would also like to meet other middle grade and young adult writers, avid readers, or anyone who would like to publish my book :)

Not sure if you got my e-mail or not. I've been sort of MIA the past couple of weeks. I've started re-reading Dena and doing some preliminary research on smaller publishers. I hope your well and you had a great Halloween!
I'm good, thanks for asking. my muse is up to trouble, as usual. I've an excerpt of my romance novel on my blog if you want to check it out, leave a little comment. yes I will def go check out that link of yours on amazon. You changed your story?
How are you? I am so glad you enjoyed the article. I wrote it for writers like you who are trying to decide which avenue to go. You are right, there is a big risk with self-publishing so if you do choose that route, make sure you have researched everything you can and do not go with a vanity publisher who charges you tons of money. But I know it's frustrating to go the traditional route and wait but it is well worth it and if you believe in yourself, it can happen. Remember that there are a lot of small presses and niche presses for you to seek out too. You don't just start out with the big boys but a small press is still considered a real publisher of course and can get you in the door and noticed. So remember, self-publishing doesn't have to be the only option. Just make sure your work is edited before you send it out and believe that it will happen when it's suppose to. Please do check out my agent articles because this could shed some more light for you too. Thanks for reaching out! Best of luck to you!
